Maya P.O.V.

I head back to the baseball field, trying to make it seem like I am fine. I fake smile at Farkle and sit besides him.

"What took you so long?" He asks, trying to study me. But Farkle can't read me, I'm too good at disguising my true feelings.

"I'm fine. The toilet got clogged though." I answer, fake laughing.

"Oh man. But I'll fill you in on what's happening..." Farkle starts explaining on what happened so far in the game. I try to pretend that I'm listening by nodding my head and giving direct eye contact.  But I still can't seem to focus.

"....and that's what happened so far." Farkle says. I give him two thumbs up and we turn back to the game.

The game got boring after that. They did win though. Which is great, I guess.

"The game was so amazing! Did you enjoy it Maya?" Riley asks me after the game.

"It was ok, not my cup of tea though." I respond. I grab my backpack and follow Riley. We walk in silence all the way home.

"So see you tomorrow. Riley says.

"Yep." I answer. Riley smiles and closes the door behind her.

I start walking home. Usually I stay at Riley's but my mom wants me home. Which is pretty surprising. Before I head home though, I take a left to the vinyl store. I don't have any money on me but I love looking at them.

I open the door to the vinyl store. There I see rows of record player and vinyls. Aka my dream collection.

"What's up Maya? See anything good today?"

"I don't know yet, there's so many of them to chose from." I reply, looking at them while talking.

The cashier, Jessie, is one of my favorite people in the world. She's so spunky and such a badass. She even gave the 1975 album for free!!

I start digging through each row of records. Pink Floyd, The Fugees, Panic at the Disco!, you name it. They have it. It's kinda crazy on how much they have.

After scrummaging around, I find a record of Adele's 25 album. I've been looking for it for days.

"Ok Jessie. I have no money..." Jessie starts to talk but I shush her.

"Can I pay you back tomorrow? Please?!" I continue pleading while Jessie rolls her eyes.

"You know I'm not allowed to do that Maya but..." she looks back and forth, once she sees no one, she grins. "Since you're one of my favorite customers, I'll let it slide." I gasp in joy and hug her.

"Thank you! You won't regret it." I hug her super tight.

"Ok that's enough Maya, you're killing me." I stop and she continues. "I have work from around 4-7. Come by anytime and give me the money. Deal?" I nod, smiling.

"Thanks Jessie! See you tomorrow!"

"See you kid." I close the door behind me and I walk home.
