In all my summers and all my morning nights
I lay awake listening to scurrying feet
Whispered conspiracies rendezvous in these nights
Leaving terrible awakenings
I clutch on to my blanket, I will never throw if off
For there lay monsters under my bed
For there lay monsters stuck in my head
Rumbling up a revolution in my soul
Compelling me to wake up
But I will lay , fighting battles in my sleep
For walking awake is to confirm
But lying asleep is only a dream.
