Everyone started laughing.
I just stared at him.
"They've been living with each other since graduation!" the man closest to me exclaimed.
After a moment of silence, I laughed timidly, "Oh."
Soon, the crowd moved onto another topic to talk about. As always, all I could see was him, Qianxi, in the center of them all, dimples prominent like so many years ago.
---Time Skip---
"Are you. . . well, these days?"
"Me? Oh," Qianxi sighed and looked at the darkening sky. "I'm fine."
The sky was tipped with blue, and pinkish from the bottom. It almost looked like sunrise. But some part of it signaled no, it was sunset. The time of the day, when everything comes to an end.
I blurted, "Do you remember me?"
For a while, he didn't say anything. Then "Jia'er, isn't it?"
I was silent. Then I said in a whisper, "Qianxi."
All of a sudden, I was giggling and slapping his head a little too hard. He giggled along with me. I'm sure at that time he didn't understand why I was giggling-- But later, on a very special day, he explained that. . .
He giggled too because he saw I was happy. And that made him happy.
