The Waiting Game

Waiting. That is what everyone is doing these days. We all want our results. These results will tell us if we are going to die or live. If we have been infected by the virus then we are done for, but if we haven't then we are fine. We aren't actually fine, because that means we still have the chance of being infected. I have been everywhere that I have wanted to go, but that doesn't mean I want to be infected. This infection isn't something that anyone wants, because the pain you go through is not pleasant. By the end, you are happy that you are almost dead, because that means all the pain will go away. The pain is another that will be something that sadly will happen. No one wants that bad news, but I think it is worse for the families when they get the news. Most people just abandon the infected, because they would rather not be infected. The funny part is that being around the infected won't make you one of them. Being around them actually helps you in the end. People outside the hospital don't even realize that people are infected easily, because they all crowd together in enclosed spaces. I can't wait to see what happens when they finally figure out how they are being infected so easily. There are so many people dying, that the people who work with the dead are now the richest people in the world. I wonder how long it will take for this virus to wipe everyone out.

The humans are the only ones that are infected with this virus. I just want for there to be a cure for this virus, but that virus is fast acting. The instant you have been told that you have been infected you can have a day or maybe a week to live if you're lucky. There has only been one person who has lived a whole week. That one person would rather have died the first hour than the whole week. The people wouldn't let him die a peaceful death. The doctors don't want to waste any medicine on the infected people. I wonder sometimes how they are able to go home and sleep at night after hearing the infected people's screams of pain. Are they that heartless that they won't just let them die peaceful? I think that they should be treated the same way as they treat those people. Though, the way this virus is working, they will be no cure and the everyone will be infected by the third month of this. This is a waiting game. You have to wait until your number is called. That number may be now or later. Though you can decide when to give up on everything that you know, and just stop existing. What do you decide, to give up or wait?
