After getting my lunch, I sat down beside Rachel at our table that she got for us and a few other people. I looked around, seeing my friends from last year. "Cole. Long time no see, bud," I said, grinning at my other best friend, Cole. He looked over at me and I could see his eyes light up a little.

Cole was one of the best-looking guys I have ever met. He had the brightest golden/green eyes I have ever seen. His dark curls matched great with his one blonde streak running through his hair. Even though Rachel has been my best friend since forever, Cole has always been there too. He helped me a lot at the beginning of high school when Matthew and I stopped being friends.

I saw his eyes scan me slowly and I smirked at him. "Why hello there, loser." He said back, looking back at my face. I shook my head and saw his gaze fall on Rachel. "Oh, hey Rach. How are your classes so far?" He said, tilting his head at her. Rachel then started to go on about her classes, telling about the new hot guy in her first period.

After explaining her whole day to us, Rachel turned to me. "So what happened with you?" She asked, winking at me. I sighed and shrugged. "Well, guess who's Matthew Reed's new tutor?" I said, giving her a fake smile.

Cole stopped eating and turned to me, his face going flat. Rachel raised both her eyebrows at me and tilted her head before laughing. "Okay yeah sure. Now, tell me what really happened today." She said, laughing nervously. I frowned at her and she looked at my eyes, trying to see if I'm lying or not.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me, Willow," Cole said, putting his food down on his plate. "What happened to, 'I'm never speaking to that grasshole ever again' or 'If you mention his name around me I will cut you?'" He asked, blinking slowly.

I glared at him and inhaled slowly, thinking about what to say next. "Guys, my mom said that if I tutor him for the semester, or however long I have to tutor him for, that I can get that board I've been wanting for oh soo long," I said, sighing happily.

Rachel shook her head and laughed. "You will do whatever it takes to get that board won't you?" She said, turning to Cole. "Remember that one time when Willow wanted that kiddie play set when we were, what, five? So, she raised up what she thought was twenty dollars but really was just a dollar and 27 cents." Cole nodded and starting laughing.

"Or that one time when she tried bribing a police officer to get out of getting a ticket?" Cole said, clutching his stomach. "Ha, ha. Very funny you two. Now while you guys have fun sharing all of my failures over the years, I'm going to go to class early." I smirked at them before getting up and throwing my lunch away.

They went on, reminiscing all of my past mistakes as I moved farther and farther away from them. Their voices faded into the loud chatter of the whole cafeteria, making me not able to hear them anymore. I could feel a pair of eyes on me as I was walking to the door. As I reached for the door handle, I turned around to see who was staring at me.

My eyes landed on a pair of bright blue ones, looking right at me.

Matthew Reed.

Our gazes locked and we stared at each other for what felt like years. Finally, I turned away, my face going red. I opened the cafeteria doors and walked out, hearing them close behind me. I sighed, slapping my cheeks gently with both of my hands. "Get over it, Willow," I whispered to myself. "You will be tutoring him for only God knows how long, so you have to get over it." I nodded at my own advice before walking off to my last class of the day.

My last class finally ended and everyone in the school was dismissed for the day. "Yes!" I said, leaning back in my chair after everyone in the classroom left. "I have completely finished day one." I sighed happily, grabbing my bag and walking out of the room.
