Learning to be the Luna (Completed)

Training day one

"Welcome to your first day of training!" Esmarelda yelled from the top of a hill. I was at the bottom of the hill, and it was quite steep so I had to look up at her. We were in the middle of the woods on the pack grounds, and I wasn't really sure why I was training here. "Your first task is to get up here!" Esmarelda yelled again. I just had to get to the top? How is that hard?

I started walking up the hill only to get my foot stuck in mud. I looked around and realized the whole area between me and Esmarelda was covered in a quick sand spell. It was meant to look as if you could walk on it but in reality you would sink pretty quickly. I was proud of myself for remembering that from one of my mother's books. "How the hell do I get out of this?" I whispered under my breath.

"Just think of something that will get you out of it! I know you can do it!" Yelled Esmarelda. What on earth can help me get out of this??? I need something to walk across that will keep me out of the quick sand. A bridge? "That's a good idea!" Esmarelda commented. Damn mind reader.

I pictured a wooden bridge going from me to Esmarelda, slowed down my breath, and only concentrated on that. I closed my eyes listening to the wind blow through the trees. When I opened them I was standing on top of a beautiful wooden bridge. I ran down it to the safety of the top of the hill.

Esmarelda was smiling from ear to ear, "that was wonderful!" I was astonished, how did I do that? How did I even know that would work? "I told you, you have plenty of untapped power within you. That's the fastest I've ever seen someone manifest such a large object," Esmarelda was still smiling lightly. "Can all witches do that?" I asked. That was honestly so amazing to me.

"There are 7 powers a witch can possess. Most witches have 3 or 4, strong witches have 5 or 6, and the moon goddess only has the Seventh. There's manifesting, which is making objects appear by visualizing them. The other power we know you have is temperature fluctuation. It doesn't only work on objects though, you can also raise or lower a persons body temperature. Some witches can even produce a flame or freeze things. The other 5 are Telekinesis, teleportation, mind-reading, Shapeshifting, and the ability to get into others minds. Only the moon goddess has the last ability though." Hearing all this from her made my head spin.

"So we know I have 2 of the 7 powers, that's pretty good for my first day right?" I ask hopefully. "Most witches get trained when they turn 12, so you're a bit behind, but yes your powers are coming through beautifully," Esmarelda smiled looking at the still standing Bridge. "Now, I'm going to teach you how to make a very important potion, that will keep you strong and healthy for our continued training tomorrow."

"Oh! What's it called?" I wondered anxiously.

"Tea."
