Oh my God, Code Red, Code Red. Chris Dalton thinks I'm hot. I repeat, send help, Chris Dalton is flirting with me.
I lost it. My heart was racing in my chest and my brain was picturing him shirtless. What the hell was wrong with me? Chris had only said one flirty sentence to me and I was a mess.
I mean, if we're being fair, I had never flirted with a guy before and was at a total loss. Now would be a good time to channel my inner Jamie Anderson. If only she could be a perfect little angel perched on my shoulder and whisper suggestive comments in my ear, maybe I would stand a chance against this horny bastard.
Thoughts of my awkwardness overtook my mind. I kept thinking about how I'd never talked to this guy in my life and he was hitting on me, right now. He was the talk of the school, sexy as hell, and the way he carried himself made it clear to everyone that he was the boss. I'd only seen him in passing and he was a total dick. The way he treated some people...
The thought put a damper on my racing heart. Sure, he was cute and I was totally flattered that he was flirting with me, but his personality was as good as a pile of dog poo. The comfortable way he flirted with me showed how often he practiced his charm on other girls. Any thoughts of hooking up with Mr. Sexy fled from my mind.
Though it felt like I was staring at him in silent awe for a long time, it was really only a few seconds. Lucky for me, it wasn't enough time for me to make a total fool out of myself and I managed to put on a stony face of indifference towards his flirty advances.
The last thing I needed was to fall into the trap of a horny player.
I kept a face of indifference as I responded. "It's nice to meet you too, Chris. We'll be working in the living room."
I started walking toward the living room, assuming he'd follow me. But when I turned around, instead of following me he was looking through his wallet with a panicked look in his eyes.
"Gosh, I can't find my library card!" He said, searching relentlessly.
What? "Chris, why do you need your library card? I said we're working here. Now come on." Before I could turn away, he got a relieved look on his face and pulled what I could only assume to be his library card out of his wallet.
I held back a mocking laugh. I didn't even have a library card.
Pulling the card out, he held it up. "Man, I'm glad I found this." He let out a relieved sigh and smirked. "I'm going to need this because I'm definitely checking you out."
Damn it. I walked right into that.
Before he could see my blush I turned quickly and walked into the living room. I sat at one end of the couch and started pulling notebooks and pencils out of my bag. Chris joined me but instead of sitting at the other end of the couch like I was expecting, he sat no more than 6 inches from me.
God, a horny boy at a perfect groping distance? I could only pray he would keep his dirty hands to himself.
Ignoring his close proximity, I reached into his backpack in search of his math notes. From what I remembered, he was in a very basic math course for our grade, and I would pretty much have to re-teach him all of the material since he didn't bother to learn it the first time.
I started flipping through his barely-there math notes to try to get a sense of where we should start. Chris, on the other hand, sat on the couch staring at me.
He didn't say anything to me or bother to glance at the notes I was flipping through. He seemed content to stare at me like the creepy jerk he was.
After a few minutes of awkwardly flipping through his crappy notes, I finally spoke up. "Do you have an issue?"
A flirty smirk grew on his face. I couldn't help but admire the beautiful dimples that dented his cheeks.
"You know," he started, leaning back into the couch and stretching his arm along the back of it behind me. I could tell he was a seasoned pro when it came to wooing the ladies. I did my best to not let him affect me, and I think I did pretty well, if I do say so myself. "I could use a little flavor in my choice of girls. I usually just settle for the girls who throw themselves at me, but where's the fun in that?"
He shook his head and ran his hand through his tousled hair. "I mean, don't get me wrong, they're all hot, but they're not very smart. You, on the other hand, you've got the brains and the body. It's kinda..." He paused and winked at me, "...sexy."
He still sat back in the couch and was looking at the side of my face since I refused to acknowledge his existence. Despite my trying, I'm positive he saw the blush color my cheeks. The damn flirt master.
"Well, Chris." I dropped his notebook into his lap, startling him. "You know, thanks for that. I appreciate your heartfelt comments, I really do, but I'm not really interested in contracting whatever odd diseases you may have. So if you would just scoot down the couch a little ways... Just scoot a bit... right down there... there you go."
Once I had convinced an offended-looking Chris to move the hell away from me before I freaked out, I turned back to his notebook.
"Okay, let's get to work. We're going to start with math." I received a loud groan in protest. "I know, it's my least favorite too, but in order to understand it you have to practice. Now, write down the quadratic formula."
"The what?"
This was going to be a long semester.

Soooo......
What do you guys think of Chris? Are you ready for some serious Stella-Chris action? You guys should help me come up with a ship name for them. I'm terrible at that. My mind automatically thinks Chris + Stella = Chrella (AKA Cruella. As in Cruella de vil, the puppy killer. Not ideal.)
Send help.
I don't know about you, but I'm loving Chris already. Maybe it's just because I made him :) If you need another beautiful picture of him, there's one above.
