As I was leaving the classroom earlier that day, I looked over the information sheet Mr. Moore had given me. It had a list of Chris's classes, his school email, and his cell number. Mr. Moore said that since it was Monday, I was required to start tutoring Chris that night to roll into the week with a good start.

On the paper was also a schedule for our tutor sessions. Mr. Moore said that Chris needed a strict schedule or he would never show up for lessons. Lucky for me, I would get to spend 2 hours every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with him.

Ef my life, seriously.

I sighed heavily as I closed my locker and leaned against it. At moments like these, I wished I didn't work so hard in school. I tried my hardest to get good grades so I could get into the top colleges and get good scholarships, but then situations like these happened and I got the short end of the stick with one of the worst students in school...

I was pulled out of my thoughts with a smack on my shoulder.

"Ouch!" I exclaimed, rubbing my arm and glaring at my best friend Jamie. "What the hell was that for?"

Her crystal blue eyes glared at me and she hit my arm again, earning another protest from me.

"That's for you moping like a little baby over nothing. Do you know how lucky you are?"

I glared at her and started walking towards the parking lot. "I'm not sure 'lucky' is the word for it," I responded sourly, "but sure. Whatever you say, Jamie."

I continued my trip to the parking lot, but after a few paces I realized she wasn't following me as usual. I turned around to see her stood by my locker, a dumbfounded look on her face.

She let out a heavy sigh. "Stella..." She folded her hands together in front of her and slowly brought them to her mouth. Her soft blonde curls bounced around her shoulders as she shook her head at me. Her eyes were sparkling with frustration.

I cringed away slightly as I realized she looked more irritated with me than usual.

"Stella..." She said again. "You get to tutor Chris. Chris Dalton. Do you remember who that is?" Before I could respond, she rolled her eyes so hard I worried they'd never make an appearance again. "You know, that hot guy that every girl stares at as he walks down the hallway? The guy that girls hang off of at parties and school dances?" She threw her arms up in the air like all of this is the most obvious stuff in the world. "The guy that-"

"Is a total asshole?" I spoke up, cutting her off. She frowned at my interruption as I continued. "Yeah, Jamie, I know who he is. Sure he's cute, but he's the biggest dick in school. Hell, I heard he gave a swirly to one of my classmates the other day for not agreeing to write his paper."

Then, like a child, she stomped her foot, pouted, and crossed her arms. "But he's hot."

I let out a groan of frustration and left her without a response. I started walking towards the parking lot again and this time Jamie followed. She made a desperate grab at my wrist but I pulled it out of her reach and kept walking. "Okay, so look at it this way. He's a total asshole, sure, but imagine how many girls will be jealous of you! You get to spend the next three months with him and you don't think that's the coolest thing ever?"

"I'm not looking for anyone's jealousy, Jamie."

We reached my car and she slammed her hands loudly on the hood of it as I fished for my keys. We received some startled looks from nearby students and I sent them an apologetic look as Jamie continued her rant.
