Hermione's POV
"What?!" I asked shocked at his shocking question. Had he really just asked me to go out with him? I just broke up with Ron and he wants to date me? What do I tell him? Do I go out with him? I'm still getting over what happened. But I don't want to say no because then that would sound rude and he just moved in with me till he gets back on his feet and~
"Would you like to go out with me?" Draco asked me again and this time interrupting my thoughts.
"Draco," I had started trying not to meet his gaze, "I'd love to it's just that, um. . . Well you see I-I-I just broke up with Ron you were there and I'm guessing that you're only asking because you're living with me and I'm single now but I-I" I started to break into tears "I just can't," I sobbed with my hands in face.
"No, no, no, it's okay it's perfectly fine, I was just wondering"
There was a long silence. We were probably there standing for about 5 minutes. Until Draco broke the silence asking, "do you wanna talk about it?"
"Yeah sure, but let's go home first and make dinner, I'm starving."

After we got home I went upstairs to my room to grab a comfy T-shirt and pajama bottoms and change in them. Draco and I ended up making dinner together, salad, chicken, pasta with tomato sauce, and a little bit of bread and butter to finish it off. Everything was amazing and when we were done and dinner mess was picked up, Draco and I headed over to the living room to sit down and talk about my relationship with Ron, and why we had broken up.
"I just don't understand" I sobbed into my hands
"Has he ever treated you poorly?" He asked me. I gave him a look that described the word 'Seriously?' "Hey, I can only guess. Remember. . . who was it? Um. . . Livrander Brown?"
"Lavender Brown" I corrected him, "And why exactly do you care about what he did to me. I mean he didn't do anything physically painful to me."
"What about mentally?"
"You know what?! I think we should watch a movie " I said quickly changing the subject.
"Woah, woah, woah, what did he do to you?"
"He cheated on me with,"
"With who Hermione?"
"Padma Patil"
"Who?"
In tears I managed to say, "the girl that he had took to the yule ball."
"Oh. . . *sigh* I'm sorry?"
Did Malfoy, Draco Malfoy just act sympathetic? Did the former Death Eater, Draco Lucius Malfoy just apologize for something that he didn't do?
I guess that I was thinking about this for sometime, because when I snapped back to reality, Draco had me in a hug. I wasn't expecting it but, it-it- well, it felt warm, happy, and before I knew I had my hands were close to my chest and on his as well. His chin was softly rested on my head. And mine was nestled under his head, but closer to his body than I have been with anyone in a really long time. Before I knew it I was asleep like a baby being rocked in it's mothers arms. (Not referring to Draco as a woman or a mother for that matter.)

Draco's POV
I was rocking Hermione back and forth to try and stop her from crying, I had done it, I calmed her down. CALMED HER DOWN ENOUGH TO WHERE SHE WAS A SLEEP. Great, now she's going to think that I care about her and her feelings. Ugh, *mental face palm*who am I kidding, of course I care for her. I've cared for her for a long time. So I decided to carry her up to her room like a father carying their child so carfully as to not wake them up, and so I relized, she fit perfectally. I set her down in her bed ever so carfully, covered her up with her comferters. Before I walked out of the room I gave Hermione a small little peck on her forehead, and walked out of her room and into mine. Before I driffed off I said to myself "Sweet dreams, little Hermione Granger"
