It was Wednesday, which meant work then to moms house. Once again when I arrived we talked simply about how we were, what we had been up to, and how work was going.
When I left something felt, uneasy. It was as if I was being watched, followed, by someone or something. I pushed the thought away from my main objective, FOOD.
I was literally down to water and Ramen Noodles. I stopped at Price Less and just grabbed some stuff. Milk, cereal, eggs, bread, and other random items. There wasn't a lot of people there but still, the feeling I was being watched shook me. I made it home and put up my groceries, I lived in a somewhat small apartment near the middle floor levels.
I was thinking about the little boy from yesterday when my thoughts were interrupted by a click of my front door.
I froze, slowly, I moved towards the front door and quietly peeked through the hole at the top of the door. I saw nothing, but when I grabbed the door knob and twisted it, it was unlocked. I could have sworn I locked it when I came in, I always did. "Hmm" I was very confused but I forget to do a lot of things. I opened the door and of course no one was there. I shut it and locked it, this time the knob, the lock above it and the chain lock. Then I heard a thud coming from, my balcony? " Don't tell me a fucking bird flew into my door. " I huffed and walked across the room. I slid the glass door open and walked onto the balcony.
This was by far my favorite place, I could see the sunset, feel the breeze, and see the stars all from my own home. Even if it wasn't in the best condition. I looked around and saw nothing out of place.
Am I hearing things again? Probably those stupid spirits messing with my head. I shut the sliding door and locked it. Then I sat on the couch, kicked up my feet, and watched Tv until I managed to fall asleep with the feeling creeping up on me again.

Unknown POV
Damn it took her forever to fall a sleep. I just waited and watched until finally she laid there, breathing steadily. I had been watching her for quite some time now, she was really weird. The other night when she got out of that car and helped that little boy find his mother, I was honestly shocked.
How, out of all those people, could she notice that boy being kidnapped. Then again, I had seen the people at her work office talking about her. What was this insane factor she had? Why did everyone fear whatever she did? I was confused and that was very rare for me.
I had unlocked the door to get in and when she heard it I had already made it to the sliding glass door, unfortunately for me I ran into it because I'm a genius.  I tried reading her mind for days, weeks even, but nothing ever came up.  She was different than anyone I had ever seen before, and to be honest I followed a lot of people.
Most people were dull, boring, always doing the same things. Even if she wasn't out partying or at the mall with friends, even if she was chilling with her mom she was still very unique. I had to keep an eye on her, someone with her "abilities" had to be watched. People already seemed to fear her.
Why did I care so much though? It didn't add up, I didn't care about anyone. I was always just a demon, sent to kill or harm never to protect. But no matter how much I tried I couldn't kill her, not yet, I had to know. I had to know why this girl out of millions of people, surprised me. I had to find out, one way, or another.

(Y/N) POV

Days had passed and my routine was still the same, I was once again on my way to my mothers house. Good old Friday, no work for the weekend and some alone time too. The rain had been pouring for a while now and I loved it. I loved the rain so much, rain, snow, and piles of colorful leaves had always delighted me. Although, I will admit it was kind of hard to see but hey, I wasn't completely a shitty driver.
My mom had really been on my case lately, she continuously tried to get me to go with her to a health group or some shit or she moved try to get me in public more or anything to get me out of my comfort zone. Really I wasn't in the mood for that stuff, I loved my mom in all but sometimes she just needed to back of a little. I needed some space and some independence. I pulled in and got out of the car and walked on in.
Today my mother was in the living room watching the weather. "Hey babe," my mom said smiling. "Mom, Jesus Christ," I laughed. I sat down and we began to chat, but then she started the specific topic I did not want to speak of, people and my problem.
" I just think you need to get out more and find some people t-" " People don't like me and I'm okay with that, why can't it just be that way. It doesn't hurt anymore, I mean yeah I do get lonely sometimes but I'm not going to pretend to be normal just so people like me." I announced. "It's not healthy for and 25 year old woman to not know any real people but her mother." She said with a sharper tone.
Now I was like a ticking time bomb, I knew where this was heading. "I'm not crazy mom," I started, she began to speak but I cut her off " I'm not crazy, they talk to me all the time, even if they are dead they were once just as real as you or me Mom." "Now (y/n) I wasn't saying your were crazy I was jus-" I yelled "Then what were you saying mom because you're not making any sense anymore one minute you love me to death and you understand 5% of my problems and the next I'm a fucking crazy bitch that you just happened to give birth to and you don't respect my choices!" She looked pissed " You know I love you (y/n) and you're getting out of control here, I never said you were crazy and I hope you're not implying that I see you as a mistake, because you are the best thing that has ever happened to me damnit!" "You don't act like it, I just want you to trust what I choose for once, I'm so sick of being a little puppet to everyone, I know I have problems but that doesn't mean I can't make my own decisions!" We were at it now, we started yelling at each other for everything, my problem, her understanding, all the shit we put each other through in general.
"I'll just leave mom, I'll just go home!" I slammed the door shut. " I FUCKIN HATE YOU!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. It slipped, I harshly shut my door and sped down the road repeating those words to myself. Did I mean those words? Surely I didn't, did I? I ran every light, ignored every dark aurora, blocked out every spirits sound, I even continued to see a shadow of a man, but I kept going until I made it home. I slammed and locked my door and sank to the bottom of it, resting my head on my knees and I gently rocked myself back and forth. I soon fell asleep, but I instantly wished I hadn't.
