Part 10: Now or Never

Hector's point of view~

It's now or never. Wait, what exactly am I trying to accomplish?? To get Karina back? Or to just be friends with her and fit in with the popular crew? Ima go with the second one just to cool down my nerves. 

I walk to the cafeteria and enter the doors. I stop walking and just stare at the middle table. The popular table. Why am I so nervous? I'm freaking awesome and very good looking I might say so I should fit in right? Oh well, time to find out. 

I snap out of my thoughts when Selena comes up to me and gets all up on me. God can this girl possibly show some self respect?

"Hey cutie." She smiles at me while twisting a strand of hair with her fingers. Is that supposed to be attractive? 

"Hey can't talk now I'll text you later" I shove past her and hear her scream something out behind me but chose to ignore it. 

I'm close to the table and I see Jose sitting with Karina's best friend standing beside him while he clings on her waist. I will admit, Jasmine's hot but not even close to Karina. 

Ugh, why am I still thinking about her? Get a grip Hector. 

I walk up to Jose and he instantly smirks and slaps me hand turning it to a handshake. He's pretty cool and now I feel bad for checking out his girlfriend. Oh well. 

"Wassup man!" Jose greets me and pulls me down to sit next to him. 

"Nothing much." I look around the table and see about 7 more people including Ruben. 

"And who exactly is this?" A girl asks. She's pretty cute. Her blond her pops out her sky blue eyes. 

"Oh umm guys, this is Hector. I met him in Physics. He's pretty chill. So I invited him to sit with us." Jose scratched the back of his neck. I'm guessing he was nervous as to what their reaction would be. 

"Well it's very nice to meet you Hector." The same blond starting rubbing my arm and I saw the guy sitting next to Ruben stiffen. 

"April, stop being such a slut for once in your life." The girl sitting next to her said. She was freaking hot. Brown hair, green eyes, oh god. But still, that's nothing compared to Karina.

They both laughed and the blond smacked the brown headed girl on the arm then they both faced me. 

"Well you already know April, so I'm Liliana. But you can call me Lily." I smiled and April whispered, "God you're hot" I think she was talking to herself cuz she was pretty zoned out which made me chuckle. 

"Well since were all introducing ourselves," The boy that stiffened up said, "I'm Cj."

I nodded in reply.

"I'm Erick." Again I nod. 

"And I'm Jason and this is my boyfriend Brent." He grabbed another guy's hand. 

I was shocked to know that those two were gay. I didn't have a problem with it but I was pretty shocked. 

"Dude, your face is priceless right now. We're not gay. Well at least I'm not. I don't know know about Jason here." Oh god I must look like a douchebag. 

"I'm not! Unless you want me to be" Yup, these guys are obviously best bros. 

I gather all my strength and courage to look at Ruben and he just stares at me. He breaks out into a smirk and says "I'm Ruben. It's nice to meet you" Wow, he's polite? Ha! He still ain't better than me tho. 

"It's nice to meet you to bro" We fist pumped but then something must have caught Ruben's eyes because he looked away and smiled instantly. I turn my head to see what he is watching and smile instantly as well when I see it's Karina he's watching. 

Dam she's beautiful. And her smile. Just freaking gorgeous. Oh god Hector you sound like a wuss.

 She struts through the cafeteria while guys drool on her and girls envy her. She stops as a girl tells her something and Karina smiles and says something in return. She turns again and starts walking to the table and stops dead in her tracks when she sees me. If you ask me, she looks fucking adorable when she is confused. I couldn't help but give her one of my famous smirks and turn back to the table only to find Ruben staring at me with cold eyes.

I know, Hector is very cocky but it makes sense later on.
