I sit here and it is almost 3:40am and I wonder why I decided to start writing about my experiences with religion, the existence of a god and faith in society. Quite frankly a lot of these feelings have links to everyday thoughts that I have in life and I believe that my identification as an atheist is a fundamental part of the core views and values that I hold as an individual.
I guess if I were to create a small list of the reasons/ideas why it would look something like this:
- The idea that everything happens for a reason
- Many contradictions and disagreements I have found in the Bible
- The concept of sin
- The need for humanity's moral to be laid out in commandments
These concepts I will explore and go into more depth in the following chapters, but I hope you all are interested and keep reading to find something you may have never thought about before or even an outlook you may not have considered.
