I just wish he would've told me sooner. If I knew he hadn't been taking his pills, this wouldn't have happened. My mom came up with a glass of water and a granola bar. He got the pill in his mouth and swallowed it with some water. I sat criss-cross on my bed with him in that little space in between my legs and my arms around him. He just sat there, chewing away on his granola bar, looking like a bunny with a piece of lettuce. I put my chin on his shoulder and whispered in his ear, "Why haven't you been taking your pills?" In between bites, he said, "At the hospital, they didn't give me my medication because they said it would interfere with the pain killers and cause nasty side effects."
I turned on the radio, kicked up the covers, and snuggled with him under the covers. He put his arm around me and kissed my forehead. I said to him, "Emma's moving out soon, you can have the room you've always wanted." His eyes lit up like Christmas lights. "Really?" He smiled and squeezed me, crying into my shoulder. I said, "Just one sec, I'm going to go check on her progress." I got up and looked into her room. Most of her stuff was gone, just her bed, dressers, mirror, desk, and posters remained. It looked so empty without her gaudy shit all over. I turned around and gestured for Cam to come see. He peeked around the corner, and jumped on the bed.
I started giggling, and I joined him. He grabbed me by my waist and picked me up. He carried me back to my room and plopped me on the bed. My mom peeked her head in the room and said, "Hey, we're heading out to go get groceries. I'm assuming you two don't want to come with?" I shook my head, and she went downstairs. We hear the front door click and the car start. They drove away, and Cameron started kissing me.
