The darkness that blinds me. It yearns. Something deep inside me. It pulses through my veins, telling me to run, at every chance I get. I fight it with everything I have.
It's like something or someone needs me and they can't wait any longer.
I know who it is.
In the shadows, two forest green eyes pierce through me, tearing into my soul. Like the deepest seas, a treasure awaits at the bottom. They scavenge my heart, eating away at everything I have.
Run
The word echoes in my brain, lingers in my soul for eternity.
I know you want to.
But I know I can't. I'm stuck, immobilized by the fear itself that has filled me.
If you won't run, so be it.
A sharp hiss rattles the room. I stumble, the earth shaking beneath my paws.
A quick light covers the room and a beautiful sky is painted where the dark shadows once loomed. Vast valleys are chiseled along the horizon and a fresh sweet breeze brushes through my pelt, warming my heart.
The image sings to me. I draw in a breath with ease, for it feels like I could run forever.
The scene ripples, and is torn away by a monstrous fire. The air is filled with thick smoke and intense heat.
I take a sharp breath, gasping for air. I wheeze and cough, stumbling back off my paws. I fall, the ground is covered with heavy ash that whisps into the air as I hit the sullen earth.
The eyes appear out of the ashes and a formless grey figure morphs into a lean tom, his pelt the color of the bark of a young cedar tree. The scenery changes once again, contorting into a shallow spring.
It's scent pale and soft, like the petals that glide down from the trees. The water, clear and pure, rippling in the gentle breeze. I can rest my paws on its gentle surface as it cradles me.
The tom pads towards the spring and glances back at me.
He stops, then gazes up at the sky. I look too.
The stars start to dazzle and shimmer. Their light, almost as if they were each individual souls. I perk my ears to a light hum.
A voice. No voices. Billions of voices, speaking to me.
All speaking the same words.
Find the one that lived for dead, his blood is searching for himself. The faded stars will resurrect.
I turn to face the tom again, but now he is replaced with a grey she-cat. Her mouth does not move as her voice echoes through my mind.
Be wary young one, for the future holds a twist. The path you choose to walk will decipher the future of the clans. Please choose wisely.
With that, the images fade to black and my head begins to spin.
This hasn't happened before? What's going on?
Eyes. Not the gentle forest eyes from before. These eyes bring fear and insanity. I can see beyond their golden surface, into the deep pools of this cat's mind. The words ring in my head, a soft chilling melody of death.
"I love you Sunspark. Don't ever forget that."
