Graduation was almost here, and it felt good for us to finally relax after a hellish couple of years in Beacon Hills. We were hoping that once we graduated that things would settle down for real.
But I also wanted to help, so, so badly.
I felt like I had to do something to help everyone.
Maybe it was because of the incident with Donovan, and not telling anyone about what had happened, but I had to do something to try to make up for it. Even if it was in self-defense, and even if he was a Chimera trying to kill me that night.
I still had to do something.
Stiles, Scott and I were talking to Stiles' and my dad, the sheriff, outside the station.
Dad was inspecting claw marks in the hood of the delivery van.
A paramedic strapped a cast onto Stiles' arm.
Dad walked toward us. "What in the hell you were three thinking?"
"We were just trying to help," Scott answered.
"Why don't you try and help me understand what the hell happened here?" Dad asked.
"Right, well, we were trying to gently persuade him to pull over," Stiles told him.
I remembered that Scott had been full red-eyed Alpha werewolf on the hood of the speeding van.
"He was getting away," I told him.
"He got away," Dad told us.
"Right, because obviously he's some sort of criminal mastermind, Dad," I told him.
Dad led us to the back of the van. "Uh-huh. You want to guess what the stolen merchandise is?"
Dad opened the van to show us tanks in the back.
"Critical life-saving medical equipment?" Stiles asked.
"No," Dad answered.
"Poison gas?" Stiles asked.
"Nope," Dad answered.
"Filled with drugs?" Stiles asked.
"Helium," Dad told us.
"Helium?" I repeated.
Dad nodded.

Stiles, Scott and I were driving in the Jeep.
"This could be a good thing," Scott told us.
"That we saved helium?" I asked.
Scott chuckled. "I mean, that... they don't need us anymore."
I sighed. "Okay, well, they need us. They just don't know it."
"We're all going off to college soon," Scott told us. "So Beacon Hills is gonna have to survive without us."
"Beacon Hills will burn to the ground without us," I told them.
Stiles knew what this was really about for me, but didn't say it because he knew I didn't like talking about it, sighing. "Stacie... they don't need us."
My phone vibrated. I looked at the text from Dad telling me to meet him at the station with Scott and Stiles. I looked up at them. "They need us!"

Liam and Hayden had found a boy in a car on the road, saying 'Don't let them take me, too'.
