CHAPTER EIGTH
Story Note: "Better sleep with one eye open from now on."
Scarlet's POV
I sigh in frustration. First, the "introducing myself" fling at every class, Justin practically kicking me out of his house, this ghost that won't leave me alone, the dreams, and now this. I just wanted to go straight back to my bed and rest but no, I can't even do that because I have to clean up this mess that wasn't even partially my fault to begin with.
Well, okay fine. Maybe it was my fault. But I mean, c'mon. Part of it was the ghost's. If it didn't scare the living shit out of me, I wouldn't have provoked my Pepsi to fall to the ground. I swear, once I find out its true identity, I will...
Knock. Knock.
My hand leapt over to my chest from the sound. I could feel my heartbeat thudding faster and faster, like I was in a race. I just can't take it anymore. What more can it want from me? These dreams weren't helping either. I kept on dreaming about getting raped and I just don't understand why that's happening to me. I sigh again.
Knock. Knock.
What now...
"Scarlet." Something called for me and I look around and my eyes go over to the window and I saw a hooded shadow standing there. I didn't know whether I should open it, I didn't know much people yet. Not to mention, this was my first day as well. Who would go looking for me?
"Scarlet, it's me Justin." The whispers echoed from across the window again.
I rush to the window and unlocked it, opening it afterwards. Justin was standing on the fire escape just outside my window, as his head was perched in front of mine now.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked him, fixing my hair and my top. Not wanting to look all disgusting.
"You wanna go somewhere?" He asked smiling at me with his head leaned towards the side in a questioning manner.
"Wait, as in, right now?" I said, my index finger pointing towards the ground and he nodded excitedly.
"Why should I?" I said again and crossed my arms while smirking at him.
"Cause I want you to?" Justin said suggestively, smirking back at me.
"What if I don't want to?" I said, raising my chin up like a frickin' boss.
Justin neared my face, which made me a little bit nervous. He was now poking his nose in front of mine. They didn't touch. Our noses just stayed there, challenging each other.
"What if I know you want to?" He mumbled in question against my lips and I swear I felt a shiver run down my entire body. His breath was cold as ice that I think a fog came out of his mouth as if we were enduring winter.
I gulped and I knew he heard it from the way his smirk grew wider with that. I started to fidget and look anywhere but his eyes. My eyes even wandered down to his body and biceps that were busting through his usual fitted black long-sleeve shirt. He wasn't that muscular, nor was he skinny. It was just right and damn, he was toned. And soon, my eyes led to his lips. I was entranced by the plump and redness of his lips. They looked so soft and kissable. He licked his lips making it wet and the light made it shine. Now, I looked into his creamy caramel eyes.
"Fine." Still looking him dead in the eye, not knowing what he could do or where we'd go to. It was a mixture of nervous and excitement and the adrenaline kept pumping through me.
