I woke up the next morning after a restless night still exhausted and a lump in my throat. Quickly the memories of the night before flooded back to me causing my eyes to prick with tears.
How could Calum say those things? I thought he cared, and not in the way the other guys do. Did the rest of the care or did she mean nothing to them as well? Had she made the wrong decision to trust them?
I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. A shower always helped out her troubles into perspective. I took my time washing up wanting to avoid going out to face him as ling as possible. After nearly 45 minutes of internal war and her fingers had swollen up like little raisins did she decide to get out.
She put on some new leggings, a long shirt and her new pair of vans. Not feeling the motivation to do her hair she put it in a messy bun after towel drying it. Finally she had figured she had procrastinated enough she made the journey to the kitchen while her stomach begged to be fed.
She walked into the kitchen to Michael and Luke debating on weather they wanted lucky charms or fruit loops.
"Tay what do you think" Luke turned to ask my opinion
I shrugged my shoulders while looking for something for myself in the fridge. I looked up to see Michael with a sympathetic look in his eyes. He must have heard everything last night.
"Are you okay hun?" Luke asks and I nod holding the tears back. I didn't want to lie to him but he shouldn't have to worry about my girl drama.
He looks at Michael "Im going to go call Alyssa and she what she says, Mikey be sure to help Tay with anything she needs."
He gives me a hug before leaving the room. Suddenly the wall I built this morning breaks and once again the tears fall uncontrollably.
"Shhhhh its okay Tay Tay, it will be okay." Micheal coos. "I heard it all last night, I know it hurts and how your probably questioning weather you can trust him and even us, but I really think you should let Calum try to explain about him and his relationship with Claire before you go disowning him, and I promise that we all love you and are so happy and excited your here with us okay, so go talk to him and settle this because we have family plans today"
It was like Michael had read my mind and he knew exactly what I needed to hear. Maybe I was thinking too fast and making assumptions about Calum but it still doesn't excuse what he said. Michael helps me calm down and we decide on fruit loops for breakfast.
"There now that you have fed the growling beast in your stomach, go talk to him please Tay."
I take a deep breath before moving towards the stairs. I didn't want to fight with Calum so its better to get this over with now.
I knocked on his door lightly hoping he was already awake. Sure enough a tired looking Calum came to the door. When he saw who it was he immediately started apologizing.
"Tay! oh my gosh I'm so sorry! You have got to hear me out and you will totally understand! I am an idiot I didn't mean to hurt you"
"Calum!" I raise my voice to stop him from rambling "I came to talk"
"Come in then" he says as he grabs my hand pulling me in and shutting the door. "Sorry for the mess just been getting some work done" he says kicking his stuff out of the way, gathering clothes and papers and throwing them on his desk.
He takes his guitar from his bed and puts it on a stand in the corner of the room and gestures for me to sit down as though he's scared in going to change my mind on wanting to talk about Claire and what happened.
I sit on the bed and motion for him to start. He begins trying to choose his words carefully.
"Tay I am so sorry if I sent you any mixed messages. I just felt really comfortable and warm around you from the moment I met you when you slipped down the stairs and that doesn't happen often"
