*Katie's POV*
I wondered down the street looking for Jansu. Last night while Yesung and I were keeping Shindong away from the packaged skewers, she had called me and asked for us to meet up and walk to school together. I spotted the petite girl up ahead in a white jacket and black skinny jeans and ran towards her. "Hi!" She exclaimed as I got close to her. "Lets get going." We started down the street.
After a while, about a block away from school, someone started shouting my name. "Yah! Katie! Yah! Wait up!" Jansu and I came to a halt and watched Jaeshi race towards us.
I heard Jansu huff and looked to see her glaring at the quickly approaching Jaeshi. "What does he want?" She whispered to me with distaste.
Jaeshi came to a halt as he stood in front of me. "Did you drop off the skewers last night?" I asked him.
"Yeah. After I picked them up I took them straight to the cooler. All we'll have to do today is cook them a bit more." Jaeshi reported.
"Okay. Well lets hurry so we get there on time."
All three of us started walking again, Jansu walking as far away from Jaeshi as she could go and pulled me along with her. "Yah, when'd you two get close?" She whispered to me.
"I don't know." I whispered back. "I guess we got close when we spent time with each other over the week." It was true. As Jaeshi and I spent more time with each other, we've become close, and I could see Jaeshi's wall drop. But we were still kind of awkward with each other.
We soon reached the school. I watched as kids bustled around the stands that took up the school's front yard in their everyday clothes, carrying large boxes, stuffed animals, and last minute decorations. I jumped when Jansu smacked my arm. "If you need a buddy when you have a break, you know where to find me." She walked off towards the stands, mumbling about fish, Youngmin, and Yunmin, leaving me alone with Jaeshi.
"Yah, lets hurry. People are going to be coming in about half an hour." Jaeshi and I headed towards the stand, and looked at the various games, knicknacks, foods, and drinks. There was even a stand that was selling Pokemon stuffies. *I'll have to get my sis an eevee toy.* I thought while walking by.
We soon found our stand and I looked it over. The bottom of the stand was painted black, then over top of that was a dark red. On the counter were 2 small bamboo plants in shiny black pots and napkins in a black napkin holder. Hanging over the counter were dark red lanterns with black swirls. The top of the stand was painted dark red, then over top of it was white with painted black letters spelling Skewers, then over top of the white was black. "Looks good. Come on, we need to recook the skewers." Jaeshi and I walked into the side entrance and took out some skewers. "You start the grill and cooking, I'll get the plates, flyers, and menus out and look around the stands to find us some drinks."
"Okay." Jaeshi reached under the grill into the cooler and took out a bag of skewers. I reached under the counter, took out the paper plates and gave them to Jaeshi, and took out four menus and tape. I quickly taped the smaller ones on the counter facing the registers, and ran out to the front of the stand and taped on the 2 large menus. I then sat the flyers behind the one bamboo plant.
"Yah, what do you want?" I asked Jaeshi over the counter.
He stopped what he was doing for a moment. "What are you getting?"
"Probably apple cider." I answered him. "Why?"
"Which would you prefer, mocha, or avocado?" Jaeshi continued his grilling.
"Mocha." I answered him. No way would I drink or eat anything with avocados!
"Okay. Get me a mocha bubble tea." He replied.
