Maleficent looked up at the still bright sky, a contrast from his dark surroundings. He still laid in the oasis but the flowers had turned black, the water has darkened and the trees were bare and curved in like a trap.

His face was covered in dry tears for his eyes had run out of tears to shed. His clothed arm rested on his eyes as he tried to steady his shaky breaths, having a hard time controlling it now that he was alone again.

He had sent Diana to follow Auroro, unsure of what he would do with his emotions running rampant because of Maleficent.

He felt so conflicted, everything in him was crying out for him to go after Auroro. To apologize for what he did and how he told Auroro, the words he said to him out of anger.

He was startled out of his thoughts when he heard a quiet crash on the now crisp flowers, Diana has returned to him. He didn't want to hear what she had to say, he didn't want her tell him how he made Auroro cry.

She, however, had no qualms about telling him. She began to squawk loudly and leaped onto his stomach, bouncing around trying to get his attention. He tried to ignore her but she started to peck at the arm covering his eyes.

WIth a heartfelt sigh he removed his arm and gave her an angry glare, "What. Do you wish to tell me how much I have hurt him."

Diana squawked again and her beady black eyes looked urgent. Taken aback by her expression he quickly wave his hand and the full weight of her human form fell on him.

"We have to go, we have to go!" She was pulling on his arm desperately.

"What are you talking about? Go where?" she had pulled him into a sat-up position.

"To the palace. We have to go to the palace right now!" He froze when she mentioned going to the palace, the thought made his blood run cold.

"I am not going to...to...that place." He couldn't even bring himself to say it and he felt ashamed of his weakness.

"Auroro is in trouble so get up." That spurred Maleficent to action.

"What happened?" It flittered in the back of his mind that he shouldn't be concerned about Auroro but his worry clouded that thought.

Diana quickly explained what happened, tugging his arm through the forest along the way. He was so distracted by her story that he didn't even realize when they had reached the iron gates surrounding the palace.

The new addition made Maleficent seeth, he didn't know how Ulla found out about his aversion to iron or if it was a coincidence. He only knew that he could feel it practically burning his skin even at the great distance that stood between them.

Diana looked at him with concern, knowing what would happen if he came into contact with the gates.

"I'll be fine." he answered her unasked question.

With a resolve as strong as the iron gates he made his way forward, his scepter pounding on the ground with every step.

Auroro looked out of the window of the tower he had been forced into. It was sparsely furnished, nothing but a large bed with pale blue sheets and a small table with an unlit oil lamp sitting atop it.

He was looking out of the only window in the room, it was no bigger than a foot. He gazed down at the castle gates with longing, if he knew how this visit would go he never would have came.

Looking down he saw two dark figures approaching the iron gates and the way his heart picked up told him it was Maleficent.

He was confused however by what he saw, it looked like the guards were charging at him, but that couldn't be. Auroro doesn't know much about Maleficent, but he knows that he wouldn't simply allow something like that to happen.

He watched in horror as the guards did in fact charge Maleficent with their spears pointed at him, glinting in the lowering sun.

Maleficent held his arms out and seemed to levitate off the ground. His scepter began to glow blue when he pointed it toward his attackers. White volts shot from the glowing orb on the scepter, landing on an unfortunate guard whose body was overcome with spasming shocks.

Even from such a distance Auroro was rooting for Maleficent. He was so enraptured by the fight he nearly missed his door flying open.

He gasped when he turned back and fell on the small window. No one stood on the other side of the wrought iron door that was encompassed in transparent green mist.

He thought to take a step toward it when a feral roar reached his ears, dragging his attention back to the window. He fell to his now weak knees when he saw what laid outside the castle gate.

Maleficent was passed out on the ground, his body covered with some type of iron netting that made his ivory skin burn red. A large, black wolf stood over his body growling violently.

Trying to will his strength Auroro slipped his fingers over the windowsill and attempted to pull himself up but collapsed before he could get very far, his body weak from distraught.

'You have to help him, he risked his life coming for you.' Auroro thought, gritting his teeth together. The effort brought fresh tears to his eyes but he brought himself to his feet with a groan.

He took shaky step to the door, the consecutive steps growing in strength. When he reached the open door he went in the direction from which he knew he came.

He didn't get a foot in the direction when he felt something pulling on his back. It jerked him back and he nearly fell onto the hard stone floor. Shaking his head as if to clear it he again tried to go for Maleficent but the same sensation pulled him but only stronger.

His body slammed into the stone wall and he cringed at the crack he heard, yet he felt no pain. His body seemed to be separated from his consciousness, and it was moving in the wrong direction.
