Actually,this is extrmely false.
Back in the 1900's when video games first came out,a national poll showed girls mostly played them. But,when Nintendo Games had to choose which shelf they wanted their games to go on ( guys or girls ) they chose boys and other companies followed. So in reality,its just for shelf space.
