I put my phone next to my ear and felt my heart racing. I felt like I was going to explode, I swear!!
She took really long to answer. Oh my god, if she doesn't answer soon, I WILL eventually explode.
Beep after beep, and I'm still waiting.
Finally, the beeps stop, but I can't hear her voice. Just some weird background sounds.
"H...hello?" I tried. No answer. "Anybody?" I said louder.
I waited a few seconds, then hung up. She's not answering. She probably didn't even give me a correct number.
I'm such a loser. Why should a beautiful girl like her want to make any contact with me? She probably thought I had some kind of a problem because I was crawling on the ground like a complete dumbass.
"Kev, are you still in the shower?" I shouted. I need a shower myself. He responded by yawning really loudly. Great, I can go.
I grabbed a towel and got in the bathroom. I took off my clothes really slow and looked in the mirror. You ugly ass moron. You missed your chance. I started showering with extremely hot water, enjoying the burns like a psycho. Enjoying the suffer. I let out a moan as I started scratching my beard. Dammit, Avriel.
A few minutes after that I was dressing up in my room.
I took a moment to look out of the window. Kirstie is not an ordinary woman. There's something about her that I can't explain. It's a shame that I'm never gonna see her again. I'll have to move on like it never happened.
It started getting darker before I noticed.
"Dude you wanna go grab something to eat?" I heard Kevin ask from his room.
"Yeah sure coming", I said, although I wasn't hungry at all.
I took a few minutes to think about what happened today. Maybe it wasn't that special anyway. An then, suddenly I remembered the most important thing she told me: "remember me". I had a flashback.
"Cmon Avi let's go!" Kevin screamed from across the hall.
"One second..." I sighed.
He burst into my room. "Is everything okay man?" He asked. Best friend ever.
Okay, lying to him would be kinda pointless.
"I met the most amazing woman today. She was so mysterious and special, and she kinda gave me her name and number. I tried calling her earlier but she wouldn't answer. All I heard was weird noises and beeps. I'm such a loser." I finished.
He didn't respond, just looked at me confused. He patted my back, gave me a little hug and sat on my chair. "Maybe you should try calling her tomorrow", he said. "Maybe some food will cheer you up", he winked and gave me another minute to get ready.
We went to Starbucks to get some coffee first, then got tacos.
We were walking on a silent street, talking a bit.
Suddenly, I don't know if it really happened or was I imagining things, but I saw a blonde flash run through us. Oh god.
I stopped there, debating on running back to where the flash appeared.
"Sorry Kev, you can go home I'll meet you there in a few", I said while looking at the other direction. Kevin looked at me as if I was an alien or something, but shrugged his shoulders and went home.
I immediately ran back till I got to a street corner. I took the left slowly to see Kirstie herself playing with her hair and looking at the ground. Holy hell.
"Kirstie?" I whispered.
She jumped in surprise and looked at me.
"Omg I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you", I offered an apologizing smile.
"That's okay", she laughed. "Hey don't I know you from somewhere?" She tested me with her eyes.
Should I tell the truth or make up something that doesn't make me an idiot?
"I'm the guy you... gave a dollar to today afternoon", I felt my cheeks getting hotter.
"Yeah I know, just wanted to see if you were brave enough to tell the truth", she joked and I laughed in embarrassment. I thought about saying something witty, but instead of that...
"So... what are you doing here in the middle of the night?" Shit. Could you be any more boring?!
"Well, actually..." she hesitated.
"Avi", she started. What the fuck. I never gave her my name.
"I need to know that I can count on you for not telling anybody if I told you. You seem like a great guy", she said and I blushed a little more. Then she looked deep into my eyes. "Can I trust you, Avi?" She asked me really slow.
"Yes", I said. "You can always count on me. Always", I said, looking into her eyes. Damn Avi, you hardly know her, you can't get so personal yet. But she surprised me.
"I'm a wizard", she announced out of nowhere, snapped her finger and brought a wand into her hand. Holy shit, I cannot believe this.
"Now I feel like I really, really know you now", she looked at me and kissed my cheek. So soft, so slow. I couldn't hold it any longer. I slammed my lips against hers and pulled away. I felt like talking to her for hours. I can't believe I've known her for only a few hours and she's already driving me crazy.
