Grayson's POV:

The bleeps wake me up, and as i bring myself to open my eyes, a blinding light washes over me. I look down to see my legs tightly wrapped up in white sheets, knuckles bandaged up and one arm in a cast. Realising i'm in hospital and have woken up alone, i hit the emergency button next to me, and in rush two nurses, immediately propping me up and rearranging my wires. They must be around my mom's age, but lack her kind smile and welcoming face.

Nurse: Hello Grayson. I'm not sure if you remember, but you were in a fight at school, and had to come to hospital. Your family have been informed that you are awake again and are on their way to see you. The doctor will be in to discuss your condition in a few hours, so until then just stay put, and press the button if you need me.

To be honest, i haven't really listened to much the nurse was saying, although i did catch the part about the fight.

Jayla.

Did she see what happened? I can't remember much at all about the event, only that Cameron was involved.

Dick head.

He came after my Jayla. She must've seen us then. I've ruined everything. The girl that i'm beginning to fall for, the girl that already means the world to me, saw my bad side. The side that i never show. As my eyes become heavy, i try to imagine Jayla's soothing voice by my side, telling me she forgives me. Silent tears rolling down my cheeks, i shut my eyes lightly and fall into a deep sleep.

Ethan's POV:

She looks so worried, i can't stand seeing her like this. After i got the text that Gray was awake i drove over to her house to pick her up. No surprise, she didn't let me in. Instead, she climbed out the back window so that 'they' wouldn't see her. I'm determined to find out who 'they' are, but for now, she needs my support. I look over my shoulder to see her sat with her head in her hands, lightly humming 808 Heartbeat by Huntar. The sound made me blush, she's so damn cute. Her head shoots up as she catches my eye, the look of anxiety in her face enough to make me cry. She looks away, almost embarrased, and i turn my eyes back to the road.

We approach the hospital and she's out the car before i've even managed to park up, running towards the doors. She turns to wait for me, and i have to sprint to catch her up. As we enter, she's shouting his name, making everyone turn to stare at us, but i don't care. I didn't think gray would recover this time. Cameron got him bad, worse than i've ever seen before.

A nurse comes over and asks who we are. She looks like my mom, but lacks her kind smile. She beckons us to a room and warns us that Grayson might be asleep. As we enter, jayla rushes over to his side, relief washing over her. She's clearly not mine anymore, i've definitely lost her. She grabs his hand and pulls it to her heart, tears falling down her face. I'm standing in the corner of the room, and i'm not sure how to feel. She looks so content, like she belongs here, but also like she's missing something. Someone.

My trail of thoughts stop as Gray begins to open his eyes, and i rush over to the bed, next to Jayla.

Gray's POV:

She came. Jayla came to see me. I look down to realise she has a firm grip on my hand, and i couldn't feel more safe. Before i know it the tears begin to fall again, and her and Eth are crying too. This was not what I expected to see when i opened my eyes, but I couldn't be happier.

I reach up to hug Ethan, and he squeezes me back, just as relieved to see me as i am to see him. It must have been awful for him to witness, especially having to look after Jay in the condition she's in. Ethan turns and smiles, and says he'll give Jay and i a minute. She perches on the side of my bed and runs her thumb over my hand. Here goes nothing.

'Jayla, there's something i need to tell you. I may have only known you for a few days, but i haven't felt this strongly for someone before. You're the m-most b-beautiful girl i have ever seen,'

I'm crying again, but she tightens her grip and smiles down at me, instantly reassuring me.

'I'd do anything for you. I never wanted you to see my bad side. I don't like anyone seeing that side of me, not even Ethan, and you don't deserve to have had to witness what happened between me and Cameron. I want you to know that i'm not someone you should be afraid of. I want to be the person who makes you happy, the person you look forward to seeing. So, Jayla, if you take anything from this, just know one thing. I-i really care about  you, and i'll always be by your side'

She goes quiet, then collapses into my arms, sobbing into my shoulder with the biggest smile on her face.

This, this is happiness.

HEYY!! im sorry i haven't updated in SO LONG. I had the next 5 chapters written up and saved as drafts and when I went to find them, they'd gone, so I'm having to re-write them all! Sorry again that it's taken so long, hope you all enjoy!!
