An Open Door

I walked up the steps, making sure I got the right address before I knocked on the door. Once I had checked the address and was about 99% sure it was the right one, I rang the doorbell. I stood there. Staring at a white door, holding purple flowers. I was nervous, maybe we wouldn't clic, I didn't want it to be awkward.

I heard footsteps from inside about to open the door. The door opened and a stunningly beautiful young girl smiled at me. She had brown hair that she had put in a braid. Her blue eyes were captivating. I know I told myself before not to size her up, but, I mean, she's extremely hot.

I was about to hand my flowers to Jess with a smile on my face and butterflies in my stomach, but then she held up her finger and said, "One second". And then the beautiful face left and I was, once again, staring at the white door. Well, there goes my plans for not having this be awkward.

I stayed there, waiting. Processing what just happened. She basically slammed the door on my face. When I looked in the mirror this morning, I'm pretty sure I wasn't that hideous. My butterflies were out of control now. This was definitely awkward.

The door opened again, and I saw Jess smile again, as if everything that just happened, hadn't happened. I smiled back and handed her the flowers and she took them gladly.

" Hey" she said as she put the flowers in a vase on the porch table and closed her door.

" I know we already introduced ourselves, technically, but, I want to do it properly" I held out my hand and sheepishly smiled, " Hey, I'm Gabriel Conte, and you are?"

She laughed nervously and took my hand and then said, "Jess Bauer, nice to meet you"

"Where do you want too go exactly? The Coffee place in Brisbane with the tables outside?" I said walking her to my car (it was my friend's car, I was borrowing it).

"Sure, there's good coffee there" she said in her super lit Australian accent.

"Alrighty" I opened her car door to let her in, then closed it and walked over to the drivers side. I felt extremely nervous, but happy at the same time. She seemed really nice and cool. I was super excited to get to know her more.

We got to the Coffee place and we ordered our drinks and found a place to sit outside under an umbrella. It was a very sunny day.

"And that's why I started YouTube" she finished and then took a sip of her coffee.

"That's cool. My YouTube story is really lame." I laughed, "I was bored"

She laughed, "that's seriously it? Didn't you say you acted?

Her Australian accent is killing me..." Yeah, I did, technically still do. But, no, that isn't the story, the reason I started was because I wanted to influence people and just be a good example and make people happy"

"I feel inspired already" she giggled.

"That was probably the most inspiring thing I've ever said. Normally when I try to be inspirational it ends up being something along the lines of 'If someone says they don't like you, its probably because your personality stinks'

" Haha. Wow. Definitely hit me in the soul " her hand covered her mouth when she laughed and her beautiful blue eyes squinted. Seeing her laugh made me feel warm inside.

I drove back into her driveway and opened her door to let her get out. I walked her to the door while we laughed about some cheesy joke I said about doors.

"Have a good rest of your day" I said as I had my hand on the door and I was looking straight into Jess's eyes.

"Thank you." She smiled and walked halfway inside and turned too look at me. She's so cute.

I had to say something before she closed the door"We should do this again sometime" that was the best I could come up with.

"Yeah, definitely. See you...?" She wanted me to finish the sentence.

"Next Saturday? Lunch?" I said. I'm so smooth.

"I'll put it on my calendar. Bye" with that she closed the door with a smile on her face and I walked back to my car with the hugest smile on my face. I felt good. My humor was on point today. At least I hope I was.

I closed the door behind me and smiled, laughing to myself about the cheesy jokes Gabriel came up with. They were pretty lame, but, I wouldn't tell him that.

He is really handsome, I thought to myself as I put my purse down on my bed. I had a warm feeling in me. I just felt super happy and I think I started blushing.

I walked into the living area and saw my mum on the couch and she looked at me as I walked in with my blushing red face.

"What's happened? It looks like a tomato swallowed your face!" She had a huge smile on her face, " How was it?"

"I'm going to marry that man" I said before I even knew what I was saying. But when I thought about what words just came out my mouth, I knew them to be true. The more I thought about it, the more I blushed and smiled.
