TW//Swearing

5:30. I'm...I'm warm. As the affect of sleep wore off and my vision cleared I came to the realisation that Hunter was the reason for my warmth. His left arm was draped around my shoulder lazily yet I still felt protected. His soft, steady breathing let me know he was sleeping, I had to be careful whenever I wanted to move. I didn't want to wake him, or anybody else for that matter actually.

That's when it hit me straight in the face, like a stray baseball a pitcher threw badly. Hunter needs to leave. Parents. Shit. Trying to be as gentle and quiet as possible, I wrapped my hand around his wrist and lifted his arm off my shoulder. I placed his arm across his stomach. I went to go shut my laptop off but saw a pitch black screen. It was flat. I placed the electronic device I take for granted way too often onto my carpet carefully and turned my body back towards the sleeping boy. He looks so...cute and peaceful when he sleeps. What? Oh my god, here we go again. I think I should try and wake him up now.

After what seemed like hours of poking, prodding, (attempted) tickling, whisper yelling things like, "Hunter, wake up!", his eye lids lifted and he inhaled sharply. He bolted upright, frantically turning his head in all different directions. Why was he freaking out?

Maybe he thinks you're crazy and kidnapped him. He hates you.

I shook my head. I pushed the ridiculous thought aside and tried to calm him down, ensure him he was safe and okay. My hands found their way to his broad shoulders and my fingers curved around them so I was now grasping them tightly. With one last frantic head turn, his eyes locked with mine.

I found myself lost in the swirling colours of his eyes, I was entranced and I didn't even know it. He stared back at me. The only thing that managed to snap me out of my daze was the awkward clearing of Hunter's throat.
"Oh, right. Hey hi sorry...crap." But...was I really sorry? You have to be, you idiot.I felt my cheeks heat up. I took my hands off of his shoulders and looked away, hoping I could hide my embarrassment. A noise. Hang on, did he just...did he just giggle? Pfft no. Just imagination.

"Hunter?" My parents would be awake soon. They just don't sleep in. It's like they aren't capable of it.
"Mm?" He managed.
"I'm sorry but...um...you have to you know...leave?" The word 'leave' left my mouth as a squeak. I'm pretty sure he heard though.
A frown pulled at his lips, "Oh, right. Yeah, sure. Sorry."
"No no, don't apologise. You're fine. Just my parents I guess." I replied sheepishly. I pushed myself off of my bed and made my way to the window. Our window. I gestured for him to come over. Slowly he walked over to where I was standing. I found myself turning the ring on my right hand around the finger it was on. It provides some sort of comfort and eased my nerves. The thing is, why did nerves need to be eased? It was just Hunter after all.

He now stood in front of me. He wasn't too much taller than I was, Maybe two inches? I didn't have to crane my neck to look up at him though which was nice. "So, I guess this is goodbye?" Hunter broke the silence.
"You make it sound like you're leaving forever." I laughed, hoping my statement came across as somewhat funny.
"I'm not going anywhere." He smiled, his pale lips turning upwards. His arms were wrapped around my waist now. He pulled me into a hug which I gratefully accepted. I draped my arms over his shoulders and down his back. Hunter radiated heat but I wasn't complaining, it was quite comforting actually.

I broke out from the embrace first. I leaned over and opened my window. He really had to go. I couldn't lose him to my parents. Hell no.

"Last night was amazing. Thanks, Eve!"
"Really?" I was shocked. I thought he hated it.
"Yes, really." He laughed softly, throwing his legs over my window ledge, ducking to keep his head from hitting the top of the window frame. He turned when he was outside and waved. I close the window, locked it and waved back, smiling so widely I think I may have strained my face muscles. I didn't stop waving until he turned back and began running.
"It really was amazing." I whispered to myself as I fell back onto my bed. I climbed under the covers and soon enough, sleep took me with a grin still plastered on my face.
