Ash hated combined science. It should have been test tubes, jets of gas flying all around the place like he imagined as a kid. What he got was an hour propped on a stool watching miss voolt write on a whiteboard. You had to write everything down even though the photocopier was invented forty years earlier. It was the last class of the day, turning dark and raining outside. Ash was sleepy because the lab was hot and he'd been up late at night training, Ash was different from a lot of other kids for many different reasons one of which is he Carry's an unbearable burden. Ash was a very good looking guy, which made him pretty desirable by most of the girls. One girl was different out of all these, Samantha Jennings she hated ash because of his popularity which confused him because he never even wanted any attention in the first place. The rest of the class was spent with the teacher screaming at the teenagers to be quite. While he  had to bear Samantha taunts and teasing he abruptly stood up and grabbed his bag with the entire class watching 'ash Ketchum what on earth do you think your doing sit back down immediately' ms voolt screamed at him. Ash simply ignored her and continued to walk towards the door. He slammed the classroom door and ran down the corridor. The school gates were locked, but he had escaped over the barrier in the teachers car park. Ash stormed away from school. By the time ash reached the playground near his flats he felt a little sick. He looked at his watch. If he went home this early his mom would know something was up. He didn't have any change on him to go buy anything so the only thing he could do was take refuge in the concrete tunnel in the playground. the tunnel seemed smaller then ash remembered.there was graffiti sprayed all over and it smelled of dog. He rubbed his hands to get them warm and remembered when he was little.
His mom would appear in the end of the tunnel with a stupid grin.
She'd speak in a deep voice,I'm coming to eat you up,ash. It was cool because the concrete tunnel had a killer echo when you were sitting inside. Ash tried to echo:
'I'm total idiot'.
The echo agreed with him. He pulled his parka jackets hood up and the zip to the top so it covered half his face exposing only his wild raven hair, his warm chocolate eyes and the fur on the hood

After half an hour sulking, ash knew he had two options stay in the tunnel for the rest of his life, or go home
Ash stepped into the hallway of his flat me checked  the mobile number in the table under the coat rack

12 MISSED CALLS
UNIDENTIFIED NUMBER

It looked like the school had been trying to get a hold of his mam pretty bad, but she hasn't answered. Ash thanked arceus, but then he noticed uncle Ron's jacket hanging up.
Uncle Ron showed up when ash was just a toddler. It was a bit like having a loud smelly rug in the house. Ron smoked, drank alcohol and only left the house to go to the pub. He got a job once but it only lasted a forthnight.
Ash always hated Ron and thought he was an idiot and his mom eventually agreed and kicked him out. But not till after she married him and gave birth to his daughter. Even now ash's mam had a soft spot for Ron. They'd never get divorced. Ron turned up every few weeks, supposedly to see his daughter, sapphire. But mostly he came when sapphire was in school and short money.
Ash walked into the living room. His mam, delia, was spread out on the sofa and Ron in the armchair with his feet on the coffee table. They were both drunk. 'Mam, you're not supposed to drink with your pills' Ash said, so annoyed he forgot his problems.
Ron straightened up and took a drag of his cigarette.
'Hey ash boy, Daddy's home' Ron said grinning.
Ash and Ron eyed each other up.
'You're not my father, Ron, ash said
'No' Ron replied 'Your Daddy Ran away to the shop to get fags 17 years ago'
Ash didn't want to say what happened at school in front of Ron but the truth was eating him.
'Mom, something happened at school today'
'Wet your pants again did you? Ron giggled
Ash gritted his teeth but didn't want to take the bait
'Listen, ash my dear' delia slurred
'Whatever trouble you're in this time, we'll talk later go get your sister from school. I've had a few drinkies I better not drive' ash sighed as he walked back towards the door, he grabbed his jacket and slammed the door behind him.
