Meanwhile, at the boys' house
"Are you calling her?""Yes! Now shut up and be quiet!"
------------------------
Hours laterMy phone buzzed. "Hold on a sec, Bolin is calling." Asami nodded and sat down on a stool. "Hello?"
"Korra! Hi! Where are you right now?"
"I'm at a fair in Ba Sing Se right now with Asami. Why, did something happen?"
"Nope! Juuuuuuust wondering! Bye!"
"Uh, bye?"
I put my phone back in my pocket and turned to Asami. "He was wondering where we were." She nodded and we headed towards the last ride of the night.
"Ferris wheel?" Asami asked. I nodded.
"2 tickets please!" The woman said cheerfully. I smiled and gave her the tickets. She let us pass through and we took a seat. The ride started to move right away at a very slow pace.
After a few minutes, we were at the top.
The sun was just now starting to set, which made a beautiful orange glow throughout Ba Sing Se. "Wow. It's beautiful from up here." I whispered. "Not as beautiful as you."My head snapped back to Asami.
"W-what?"
"The sunset is beautiful, but not as beautiful as you." Asami repeated.
I blushed hard. I looked down at my feet. "Nah. Not really. I'm just me. The sunset is amazing. Just like you." I mumbled the last part to myself.
"But so are you, Korra. You're beautiful, and really funny, and kind and strong and brave. You're the most amazing person I've ever met, no lie. And it's not because you're the avatar, it's not because you know people, it's because you amaze me every day with all of yourself."
I looked up, trying to see any sign of a lie, but found nothing but sincerity in her eyes.
"....you're pretty amazing yourself..."
Asami smiled. And scooted closer to me. "See? You're always so sweet to me. I love that about you."
I blushed harder.
"Korra. I need to tell you something."
I looked at her, confused.
"What is it Asami? You can tell me."
She looked me in the eyes. "I heard you, the other night. When you were talking and thought I was asleep?"
I sighed. "Ok, maybe I do like a kids show. So what? It's good."
She looked at me before bursting out laughing.
"It's not funny! It's a good show!"
She wiped her eyes and looked at me again. "You really are oblivious, huh?"
I was confused again.
"Korra, I meant the OTHER other night. I mean I heard that too, about the show, and by the way I like it too, but that's not what I was talking about. Korra, I like you too. As more than a friend. I really like you."
