Gordromic rested himself agianst a lightpole at the end of his street. He was exhausted. Not only was he carrying about 200 pounds of guns, but he also had metal armor on. He needed a rest. Gordromic picked up his phone and looked at the locations of the team. Shy and Alex had splitten up at a crossroad, but they were still close. Rukio was in the forest, about a quarter of the way into it. Gordromic knew he had to pick up his pace, or else he would get left behind. As he went to pick up the bag, he heard footsteps. Gordromic lifted his Light Machine Gun and aimed down the street.
The footsteps grew louder, and more numerous. Gordromic shuffled through the large bag and grabbed ammo, and left the bag in the nearby bush. Gordromic activated his fiber optic armor and checked the ammo on his gun. When he was satisfied, he marched forward, barrel pointing ahead. As Gordromic marched on, the footsteps got louder and louder, but he did not see anyone. Gordromic kept marching, nervously looking around for any sign of life. The roads became very foggy, Gordromic could not see past his gun barrel, but the sound of marching continued.
Gordromic stopped. The marching suddendly stopped. Gordromic felt a sweat roll down the side of his face. He heard something on the ground, when he looked, he saw a red metal can. Both lids were closed. He knelt down to pick it up. When he observed it, he felt something inside the can, but did not know what. When he put the can next to his head, he heard a click. His eyes widened. Before he could throw the can, it exploded, shooting off flares and blinding Gordromic.
Gordromic heard people shouting around him, followed by gun fire. Still visually impares, Gordromic started to fire his LMG, hoping to hit something. The gunfire deadened and the shouts became quieter. After a few minutes, Gordromic was able to get behind cover. His vision was horrible, but he could see.
Gordromic saw that the large group of people were retreating. He put his gun on the top of the mailbox he was hiding behind, and started to fire. He only was able to get three or four mercs until they got wise and started to return fire. Gordromic reloaded his gun. He would have to charge through them. He knew he could do it, his armor has stopped the toughest Armor Piercing rounds. He was worried about the armor taking continous fire from all sides. Alex made it clear to him, the armor works by the fibers thickening where there is a large concentration of energy. If he was shot from all sides, the fibers couldn't thicken and the armor would be useless. Gordromic sighed. He stood up and lowered his visor. He had to make it to the hospital, no matter what.
Gordromic wasted no time firing his LMG. If he could not stop all of them from firing, he had to stop them from flanking him. He took on continuous fire to the chest and stomach. He was okay, but he felt the wind on his back, the fibers on his back were thinner than paper. Gordromic was not the most accurate person, but he was able to mow down the mercs as they came.
Gordromic kept this up for half on hour. He only needed to reload twice; his extended drum load did its job. Gordromic ejected his second drum load and reached for another one. He was shocked when he did not feel any more drums left. Gordromic dove to cover, hiding behind a stone barricade. He heard the guns getting more numerous. "Backup must have arrived." He whispered to himself. He only sat behind cover, what else could he do? After a while, he heard a huge explosion. When he looked over the barrier; he couldn't believe his eyes.
The army was scattered, shouting commands and wacing their guns everywhere. He looked over at a high ranking soldier, watching him shout commands. Almost immediately after Gordromic looked at him, his head exploded. Gordromic pulled out his secondary shotgun. Someone apparently was on his side in this fight. When he heard one more explosion, he came out of cover and started firing.
It was not long after that, two highly armored men dropped from the rooftops of the skyscrapers. They hit the ground, leaving a large imprint in the cement. The two men wasted no time pulling out their duel machine guns. In a blink of an eye, the rest of the army was dead. Gordromic holstered his shotgun and started walking to the two men. "Hey guys, thanks a lot. You just saved me right there."
The men immediately spun around and started shooting Gordromic. Gordromic's armor absorbed most of the damage, but he ran to cover. He pulled his shotgun out and put two shells in it. "What the hell." He thought to himself. As he reached for a third shell, he dropped it as machine gun fire roared over his head. The two armored men were close, Gordromic could hear them when they ejected their machine pistol clips. When he heard the clips hit the floor, Gordromic rolled from cover and put one shell in the head of each man.
The helmet did not protect them in the neck, so the shells were fatal. When the men hit the ground, Gordromic noticed two glowing blue circles. Gordromic slowly approached the two men, being cautious if they were feigning death. When Gordromic knelt down over the bodies, he saw that the glowing circles were Holo-Tags. Computerized dog tags used by the most elite military personnel.
The right tag had orders that were given to them, used by a very specific satellite. It was near impossible to hack or trace. The left tag had the emblem of the military outfit they belonged in.
Gordromic did not know much about Holo-Tags, but he was able to piece together what all the information meant. "These people take orders straight from the President, " Gordromic began to say to himself, "The right tag has their orders, right? What does it say... 'Kill Codename: Rukio and Gordromic. Kill everyone in their perimiter. Do not spare military nor civilian. The job must be done.' "
Gordromic clenched the tags in his hand. "America hates us." He said to himself. Gordromic put both sets of Holo-Tags in his pocket. "I have to get these to Rukio, he will definately want to see this." Gordromic walked the rest of the way to the hospital. No one was alive, anyway.
