On a harbor of New York, a certain wizard in a blue coat has stepped off the boat. With his case in hand, he is not aware of the adventure ahead of him.
In her lab in the basement of her New York apartment, a certain witch is working on brewing a new potion. Her particular recipe will cause her to have the adventure of a lifetime.

I huffed in frustration as another combination of ingredients failed to meet my expectations. I got rid of the bright green liquid and cleaned out my cauldron. I ran a hand through my short ponytail and looked at my chimera. He opened his eyes and looked up at me.
"Henry, you're lucky you don't have to deal with this. I love potions, but this process is so difficult," I said and shook my head. Henry let out a small mewl. I stumbled over some books to pet his mane.
The snake head of his tail now also woke up. Unlike most chimeras, he had the dragon wings, but no goat head. Just lion, Henry, and snake, Remy. And speak of the devil, Remy's head snapped at a small blur running by. My wand was in my hand in a millisecond.
"Accio!" I whipped my wand in the direction of the blur. A small fuzzy creature flew into my hands. I scrunched my eyebrows and looked at the little thing. It looked like a cross between a mouse, a platypus, and a mole. It trembled in my hand, so I put it in my front pocket to let it calm down.
"Alright, back to work." I stood and moved back over to my work station.

I sighed and rubbed my eyes. It had been hours working on one potion. Finally, yet another brew was complete. I took a small sip for a sample, ready to be disappointed yet again. But, when I stuck my hand in the bucket of ice water on the table, I felt no cold. I perked up, eyes wide.
"MERLIN'S FUCKING BEARD!! IT WORKED!" I shouted and jumped up. The clattering of my stool on the ground caused Henry to let out a surprised roar. I frantically ran around, drinking a small bit more of the potion and writing down the recipe. I grabbed my bag, which is quite larger on the inside, and shoved my notebook and a vial of the new potion inside.
"Henry! Hop in," I held the bag open and Henry flew inside. I quickly stomped up the stairs and raced out the door. Muggles gave me strange looks as I sprinted down the street towards my best friends' house.
At last, I reached their apartment building and slammed the door open. Their landlord yelled some incoherent babble, but I ignored her and quickly went up the stairs.
"Tina! Queenie! I made a new recipe and it works!" I shouted upon once again slamming the door open. "It's a new one that I made today, oh my god I spent fucking hours in the lab, but I finally got it to work!"
Tina, Queenie, and two strange men all looked at me in shock and confusion. My chest heaved as I fought to catch my breath. My eyebrows knit together, as I was just as confused as they are.
"Oh, hello there."
----------------------------------------------
I sat at the dining table of Tina and Queenie Goldstein. My case sat by my feet. My leg bounced rapidly. All I wanted to do was find my creatures. We had just finished when the door banged against the wall.
"Tina! Queenie! I made a new recipe and it works!" A girl shouted from the doorway. She was extremely out of breath, her chest heaved up and down. "It's a new one that I made today, oh my god I spent fucking hours in the lab, but I finally got it to work!"
She went silent and stared back at us. Her eyebrows scrunched together. As for me, I could not take my eyes away from hers. They were a beautiful shade of green. I recognized those eyes.
"Oh, hello there." She said with a thick British accent. She smiled awkwardly at us.
----------------------------------------------
I squinted at the man in the blue coat. He had unruly, curly hair, and freckles splashed over his face, with stunning hazel eyes. I recognized him. I gasped loudly.
"Newt!" I shouted happily. He blinked twice. I shook his shoulders. "Newt, it's Elliott!" His eyes widened. He jumped up and pulled me into a hug.
"You know him?" Tina asked. I nodded.
"We went to school together. I'm a Slytherin, he's a Hufflepuff. No one expected the friendship," I explained. Tina and Queenie looked at each other.
"Oh, shut it. You two wouldn't know the Hogwarts houses," I said and stuck out my tongue. Tina rolled her eyes.
"Who's that?" I pointed to the other man.
"That's Mr. Kowalski," Tina said. I nodded at him.
"Anyway, what does your potion do?" Queenie asked excitedly. I gasped.
"It lets the drinker be immune to the cold! I have no idea how long for, seeing as I just made it, but it works so well! I wasn't cold at all when I ran here," I rambled. I felt my bag shift and rolled my eyes.
"You made a new potion?" Newt asked. I looked over at him.
"Yes, silly, I'm a potions master and alchemist. Speaking of alchemy, I have to let Henry out." I fiddled with the buckles on my bag.
"Who's Henry?" Newt asked. His jaw dropped when Henry flew out of my bag. He stretched his legs and back out. Remy flicked his tongue out at the new people and surroundings.
"Is- Is that-?" Newt stuttered.
"My chimera. Henry is the lion and Remy is the snake," I explained and patted Henry's head. Newt crouched in front of him, eyes full of wonder.
"Well, Elliott, you're welcome to spend the night. I'd like another witch here to keep an eye on these two," Tina said and stood up. I looked up at her, confused.
"Mr. Scamander here has accidentally released magical creatures into the city. One of them bit Mr. Kowalski, which is why he's here."
"He's a muggle?!" I shouted. Tina nodded. "Tina why the hell are you allowing him to see all this? Shit, why didn't you tell me before I talked about my potions and house and let Henry out?!"
"First off, watch your language. Second, he is injured and we will use him as evidence. That's final." She put her hands on her hips. I blew my bangs out of my eyes. Newt paused in his petting and examination of Henry to look up at me.
"Fine. Where am I staying?"
