It was a bit of an accident, but you discovered that Newt was quite a good singer. The magical creatures always loved being sung to, and Newt complied. He was a blushing mess when you clapped loudly after his performance for Dougal.
Since then, you learned what kind of songs each creature liked and helped Newt sing to them. Today Newt was busy in his workshop, so you were going around by yourself.
First was the fwoopers. The little bird creatures absolutely loved when you sang love songs. So today you decided on a song called Speechless for them, and a special guest that you hadn't seen.
"It's a mystery, too good to be true. I find my purpose when I look at you. I bleed transparent. It's not the way I choose, but it's only when I'm vulnerable my true colors shine through. For a moment, I'm a poet without words, speechless because you love me at my worst. I don't deserve this. I let it surface and all I know is today I woke up falling in love again.
Starving artist, no match for the queen, but walls come down and love's limitless when you find what's meant to be. Supernatural, it's more than what we see. A trust that can't be broken seemed impossible to me, but I've tasted true love and I believe! For a moment, I'm a poet without words, speechless because you love me at my worst.
I don't deserve this. I let it surface and all I know is today I woke up falling in love again. For a moment, I'm a poet without words, speechless because you love me at my worst. I don't deserve this. I let it surface and all I know is today I woke up falling in love again."
With all the fwoopers either calm or napping, you moved on to the moon calves. They appreciate songs that are powerful and sad. So for them, and the guest, you decided on The Ghost of You.
"I never said I'd lie and wait forever. If I did, we'd be together now. I can't always just forget her, but she could try. At the end of the world, or the last thing I see. You are never coming home, never coming home.
Could I? Should I? All the things that you never ever told me, and all the smiles that are never ever... ever... Get the feeling that you're never, all alone and I remember now. At the top of my lungs in my arms she dies. She dies.
At the end of the world, or the last thing I see. You are never coming home, never coming home. Could I? Should I? And all the things that you never ever told me, and all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me. Never coming home, never coming home. Could I? Should I? And all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me, for all the ghosts that are never gonna catch me. If I fall. If I fall down.
At the end of the world, or the last thing I see. You are never coming home, never coming home. Never coming home, never coming home. And all the things that you never ever told me, and all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me.
Never coming home, never coming home. Could I? Should I? And all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me, for all the ghosts that are never gonna..."
Now all the moon calves were ready for their nap time. Time to move on to the nundu. This particular creature had to be serenaded from a distance. She liked short, soft songs. So you decided on Prelude 12/21 for her and the guest.
"This is what I brought you this you can keep, this is what I brought you may forget me. I promise to depart just promise one thing, kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep. This is what I brought you this you can keep, this is what I brought you may forget me.
I promise you my heart just promise to sing, kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep. Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep. This is what I thought, I thought you need me, this is what I thought so think me naïve, I promise you a heart you'd promise to keep, kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep.
Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep. Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep."
Now you were in your bedroom. Newt stumbled in a moment later. You looked at him and grinned.
"I know you were watching me sing," you said. Newt's ears turned a bright red color.
"W-well, you are quite good, you know." Newt stuttered and looked to the ground.
"Come here, it's late. I'll sing you to sleep, too," you offered. Newt smiled softly and climbed into bed after changing into his night clothes. He laid with his head on your chest, arm around your waist as if you were a teddy bear. You played with Newt's hair and began a light lullaby.
"Come little children, I'll take thee away, into a land of Enchantment. Come little children, the time's come to play here in my Garden of Shadows.
Follow sweet children, I'll show thee the way, through all the pain and the sorrows. Weep not poor children, for life is this way. Murdering beauty and passion. Hush now dear children, it must be this way. To weary of life and deceptions.
Rest now my children, for soon we'll away, into the calm and the quiet. Come little children, I'll take thee away, into a land of Enchantment. Come little children, the time's come to play here in my Garden of Shadows."
You gazed down at the sleeping man on your chest. He looked so peaceful and carefree. You loved him with all your heart. Of all the creatures that you would sing to, Newt was your favorite.
