  • Dedicated to My mother, for being amazing. (unlike Medusa)

Fear. It was fear that loomed over me, like a shadow that lost its purpose. Like a cloud that hangs over my head, rather than staying by my side. What I wouldn't give to have someone on my side...

I was trailing slowly behind my teacher, afraid. I was to come face to face with Mother after missing the dang signal! What am I to do?

"So," Stein says, breaking the silence. "what sort of connections do you have with this witch?"

I stop immediately. He found me out?!?!

"W-what do you mean?" I ask, but I knew that he must have this whole accusation spot on.

Stein smirks a bit, freaking me out furthermore.

"Well, you seem to be terrified at the very mention of her name," he says. Is it that obvious?

"Why is that so?" he asks rather sweetly. I begin to shudder and shake at the thought of Mother finding out that my Professor is on to me.

"B-bad experiences...." I mutter softly. That part was, unfortunately, true. Stein chuckles softly as he shakes his head.

"Don't hide it from me, Kimiko," he says calmly. "I know your secret."

I jump a litttle.

"W-what exactly i-is my secret?" I shudder, truly afraid.

Stein stops and his deep green bear into mine. I shiver, goosebumps covering my skin.

"You were a spy the whole time," he says softly. "You only had a change of heart just seconds ago, when you missed that signal."

Tears swim in my eyes. Acid tears of misery. Stein looks at me questionably, with a halfway thoughtful look on his face.

"Why are you crying?" he asks, sounding dumb.

"W-what are you going to do to me?" I whisper, the tears falling down. Stein thinks for a moment.

"Well...I don't know," he says. "For the time being, you will assist me in defeating your mother." How could he ask something like that?

"O-okay sir..." I say in a small voice. I walk with my head down the rest of the way.

"HEY STEIN!" a loud voice calls out. The voice belongs to a middle aged man with longish red hair and blue eyes. "So, uh...IS MAKA OK?"

"Yes, but as you may have noticed, we are under attack," Stein says, sounding a bit annoyed. The man's eyes widen.

"Yah I've heard..." he murmurs. "Can I help?" Stein seems to be pissed.

"Yeah, I really do think you can, Spirit," he growls. "Now transform!"

The man called Spirit flashes brightly then lands in Stein's hand in a black Scythe form.

"Lets go," Stein says, and then we are off once again.

"Hello, Frakenstein," a cold, venomous, stabbing voice says. That voice can only belong Mother. I whip around to see her standing there, smirking. "Caught on to me, have you?"

I hide behind Stein, praying that Mother wouldn't see or notice me in any way. Of course, she does. I feel a sharp pain in my neck and I clutch it. A snake slithers out of my mouth and I jump back, afraid.

"T-there was a s-snake in me....the....the whole time?" I whimper.

"Of course there was," Mother scoffs. "You couldn't tell? By my voice that you heard all the time? You're an idiot."

The snake slithers up to her and goes in her sleeve to rest in its home. I start to shiver at the thought of that digusting, horrid, venomous creature making its home in my body. I knew that it must have been in me for quite some time now.

Suddenly, Mother shouts, "Vector Arrow!"

The hated black arrows came in and hit me in the stomach. I could feel a wound opening, but I don't care. I am DONE being her pawn. I am done calling her 'Mother.'

"Aren't you going to fight?" Medusa says, in an intoxicatingly sweet voice. It was the voice she used when she was impersonating a nurse. Certainlu a much kinder person than she really is.

I stand up, clutching my stomach wound, and turn my arms into the Chain Scythes. Medusa's mouth twists into a smirk and she sends another arrow at me.

I dodge it, but it scrapes my leg, opening a long-closed scar. I jump back and swing, but the Snake Woman grabs the chain and pulls me down. I fall on the freezing stone floor and cough up blood. The red marred the usually grey floor.

"You really are a mistake," Medusa hisses. "You shouldn't even be in this world. I only kept you alive because you are a pitiful child. In fact, I only created you to create a Kishin."

I stagger and stand up, my vision blurring. I have already lost too much blood, but like that was going to stop me. I gather all my strength and swing at her, missing terribly. Medusa sneers.

"The only reason you're alive right now is because I needed a spy," she jeers.

I jump behind her and swing once more, only to have her grab my chain again. But this time, she pulled me close to her face. I stare into her yellow eyes, eyes full of hate and malice.

"You will never amount to anything in life," she spats. I glare at her, anger building up against my chest. It bloomed like a flower, ready to burst into full shape. My blood feels cold and my eyes glare.

"I may not amount to anything in life," I say angrily. "but you will never amount to a mother, Medusa."

Her eyes glint in fury and she slowly takes one of my blades. I only have a few seconds to react. I break away as soon as Medusa slices me on the back.

It could've been worse, but the searing pain felt horrid on my skin. I collapse on the cold ground and realize that Stein was watching me this whole time, clutching Spirit. He finally decides to make a move. He stitches Medusa's feet to the ground.

"What is this?" Medusa growls angrily, trying to move. Stein's lips curl into a mad smile.

I feel myself blacking out as he says, "This is your end."
