Long ago, there was a young girl. Just about in her mid teens. With long, deep red hair, dark green eyes; she is about 5'4 and she is rather small. She had a love for reading, but a passion for listening to the sound her guitar makes when she plays alone in her room. When her father isnt home...

You see, her father use to be such a kind man. So full of life and love. He use to sing songs as the girl played her guitar. But, that was before her mother and brother died two years ago in a car accident. Ever since then, just months after it happen, her father blamed her for the tragity. He abuses her nearly every day, yelling at her that if it was her fault entirely for the death of his wife and young son.

The day her mother died was the girl's 14th birthday. Her mother had gone out to pick up her birthday cake, and brought her 8 year old brother along for the ride. Though, when she was on her way home, the girl's brother was throwing a fit in the back seat. Her mother only turned around for a short moment to tell him to hush...

Ever since then, her father blames her for the accident. She always hides up in her room, trying to stay away, even if its for a short time. She wishes that it never happen. That her mom would still be alive, along with her little brother. That her father wouldnt beat her and blame her for it all. That every night, she wouldnt cry into her pillow and just wish to end it there. But she knew she couldnt. The girl wanted to be strong for her mother, even if she breaks more and more each day.

Today is the girl's sixteenth birthday and the anniversary of the accident. It is also one of the worst times of the year for the girl. For this time of the year, her father comes home drunk(just like every other night) and beat her close to death.

The girl is in her room, sitting on her bed, dreading when night falls when her father will return home. She is wearing the dress her mother has gotten her for her sixteenth birthday when the girl was about 12(her mother always tried to come prepared for big events). The dress goes to about her knees. It is white with black lace over it and she is wearing a pair of black convers. She looks so beautiful, even when she knows whats in store for her later in the night.

She hears the sound of the front door closing. After a few moments, she finally heard the sound of the car driving off. After the car leaves, the girl gets out of bed and locks her door. After that is done, she makes her way over to her guitar case, which she has hidden under her bed. Once she gets the case out, she sits on her bed, and takes her guitar out. She positions it onto her lap, and begins to play one of her favorite songs. I Swear This Time I Mean It by Mayday Parade. As she plays, she starts to sing along to the melody, her voice filling the room.

While she is singing, tears began to roll down her face. She loves this song so much. It seems to be one of the only songs that can cheer her up when she feels dead inside, even if it is a sad song itself...

"So I'll sing a melody

And hope to God she's listening

Sleeping softly while I sing

And I'll be your memories

Your lullaby for all the times

Hoping that my voice can get it right."

She stops in the middle of the song and just stares at the wall ahead, trying to stop the tears in her eyes. She is just done. She doesnt wanna be hurt anymore. All she's had to deal with was abuse and pain and hurt for two years and she has had enough of it. Wiping the last of her tears, she puts her guitar back in its case and closes the lid, but not putting it back under her bed. But, instead, she takes her guitar case and starts heading for her door. She unlocks it and heads down the stairs slowly.

The girl makes her way through the kitchen, to the back door. Since she is always in her room, her father never locks any of the doors in the house. She slides the door open and walks out, shutting it behind her. She makes her way to the wood that is just past her backyard fence. After safely making her way over the fence, she quickly dashes into the woods. She use to play in these woods a lot growing up, so she knows where to go to hide from her father.

After running for a good mile or so, guitar case in hand, she finally slows down to take a breath and relax for a while. She sets her guitar case on the ground and sits next to it. She closes her eyes and just looks upwards, taking in the clean air. She can finally relax, after two years, she finally feels safe.

A few minutes passed before she began walking again. It starts to get darker each passing minute and she is starting to get tired. She stops and looks around. She has never been this deep into the woods, so she doesnt know what lyes out here. But something catches her eye. Looking more closely at it, she sees that it is a small abandoned cabin. She makes her way to the cabin, thinking she can probably get some rest there.

When she finally gets there, she can see that somebody use to live here not so long ago. So, there may be some supply left behind. When she enters, she is pleased to see a single bed off in a corner, a small kitchen, and a little heater for her to keep warm. She sets her guitar case down on the table and begins to look around for something to light the heater up with. She does find a couple of un-used matches and a lighter, which will come in handy. She lights up the heater, and it brightens up the room with a soft glow. The girl then mades her way over to the bed and lays down to rest. Slowly falling asleep as she hums to herself.
