"Where you heading off to, Mom?" the young, now forteen, year old girl asked her mother as she is walking out the door.
Her mother looks back at her and smiles, "I am just going to get your cake, Darling. I will be back in just a few." she says, turning back and headed for the door again.
But, she was stopped when the girl's eight year old brother runs up and starts clinging onto their mother's leg.
"Moooommy!!! Dont goooo!!!" the young boy cried, holding onto her leg.
Their mother chuckled and removed him off of her leg. "Alright, alright. You can come to. Go put your shoes on."
The little boy squeals and runs happily to go put his shoes on. After he runs off, their father comes home from work with a smile on his face. He kisses the girl on the top of her head and wished her a happy birthday. After, he went and kissed his wife on the cheek. She tells him she is getting their daughter's cake, but will be back soon. A moment later, the little boy runs out ready to leave. Then the young boy and their mother were off.
~An hour later~
The girl and her father were just sitting in the living room, patiently waiting for her mother and brother's return from the store. After about ten minutes. the phone begans to ring loudly. Her father excused himself, for they were watching the girl's favorite movie: Taken, so he can answer the phone.
Moments later, she suddenly heard her father yelling into the phone in the next room. She got up and went to see what was wrong. When she got there, she seen her father on his knees, phone laying on the floor beside him. She ran to his side quickly.
"Dad! What's wrong? What happen?" she asks, her hands on his shoulder.
He looked up at her, tears in his eyes. "Your mother... your brother... they are dead..."

The girl shot up out of the bed, sweating. She looks around at her surroundings and seen she was still in the cabin. The girl looks down at her hands to see they are shaking. She pulls her knees up to her chest and began to cry. She cried and cried until there was no more tears left. After a while, maybe an hour or so, she finally calmed down.
When she did, she got up out of bed to get her guitar. She needed the comfort badly. Once she has her guitar in her hands, sitting on a chair in the middle of the room, she began to play Hear You Me by Jimmy Eats World. She begins to sing the sad song, thinking of her mother and brother the entire time. She does this in memory of them. When the song is over, she puts her head down and stares at the floor for a second before hearing something... a voice.
"Please dont stop. You have a beautiful voice..."
Her head quickly shoots up and she began to look around, alarmed. She doesnt see anything, so she just assumed it was only her imagination. She got up and put her guitar back in its case. She turns around and heads for the heater again. She notices a small bookshelf next to it and sees a few books still there. She reached for one of the books and looked at the title: Flowers In The Attic by V. C. Andrews. The girl always loved Andrews's work, she use to have many of her books, before her father got rid of them all.
She sits infront of the heater and begins to read the book. She smiles while reading, for it is something she always loved doing. Her mother would always buy her books or take her to the local library almost every week.
After a while of reading, the girl suddenly hears a slight creaking and freezes. She slowly turns around and sees her guitar case has been opened. The girl looked at it confused for a moment, then got up to close it again. But once she approched it, she hears the voice again and froze.
"Please play again for me. You are amazing at playing..."
The girl slowly turns around to see a boy, about her age, standing right behind her.
