Shay's POV

"No Shay, we're not doing Harry Potter!"
"Why not? It's be great! Two Ravenclaws getting married!"
"Ravenwhats?" Rian asked, chuckling slightly.
"Ravenclaw is our Hogwarts house, babe. Al is Gryffindor, Jack is Slytherin and Zack is Hufflepuff." I sighed. "It would be perfect!"
"We're not having a Harry Potter wedding babe." Rian groaned. "What about your original idea? A fall wedding? That would work."
"But that's so simple." I groaned, taking a seat next to him on the couch. We were currently in our living room, discussing the wedding while watching one of those TLC shows.
"We're not over the top people, Shay. We don't need an over the top wedding." He chuckled quietly. "Besides, fall is perfect. We started dating in fall."
"We did." I groaned. I hated when he was right, but it was seldom, so I'd let him have this one. "I guess we can do a fall wedding."
"Good." He smiled, kissing me softly. "Where should we have it?"
"The mountains? Somewhere that's pretty and that we can hang fairy lights around."
"What about Connecticut? Isn't it in that show you watch, uh, Gildorf Girls or whatever it is?"
"Gilmore Girls, and yes it's there but what about staying here in Maryland? I think that would be better." I smiled, cuddling up next to him.
"If that's what you want." He stated before kissing my head lightly.
"Wait! Can we have a fall Harry Potter wedding? Best of both worlds!"
"No Shay."

3rd Person POV

The late night had not phased anyone. The boys and their significant others were spread through the living room, the Ball Drop being played on the large television as music played, a nice undertone to the lively exchanges.
The boys were all engaged in a conversation about the next morning's football game while most of the girls were discussing the upcoming Dawson Gaskarth nuptials. Shay, however, was engrossed in her laptop, doing a bit of last minute work on the video that was supposed to go live at midnight. She, along with her fiance, had decided what would be a better way to announce their engagement to the fans than releasing an announcement video for the new year. They had spent the last few days on locations, shooting things for the video, all while the band was in the home studio, working on a special version of The Edge of Tonight, a song that, at the time of release, Shay had no idea it was about her.
With a new acoustic version of the song, the video began falling in place. Everything, Shay thought, was perfect. It came together like a dream, and she was almost done. Keyword, almost.
"Hey Ri? Shay asked, pulling her headphones off.
"Yeah babe?"
"Do we want to add the date?" That seemed to catch the attention of everyone in the room.
"You already have the date?" Dani shouted, jumping up from her seat excitedly. "Please tell me it's a summer wedding on like the beach or something."
"I bet it's in winter." Jack cut in, Zack and Alex nodding in agreement.
"It's November 5th." Violet announced, a smirk on her lips.
"How'd you know?" Rian answered shell shocked, turning to look at the pregnant woman, who seemed very proud of herself.
"Gilmore Girls. Duh." Violet stated, the room erupting in laughter. Rian looked at Shay with a small smile, watching as her cheeks turned a bright pink, almost an exact match to her now pink hair.
"I'm sorry I'm so predictable." Shay muttered, watching Rian, whose eyed filled with love as he admired the love of his life. In that moment, the world was perfect.

Shay's POV

Everyone gathered in a circle on the floor, Zack placing an empty beer bottle in the middle.
"I feel like I'm back in high school." Violet laughed quietly, laying her head on her husband's shoulder. The day after christmas, Violet and Alex took a trip to vegas and, well, I think you can figure the rest out yourself.
"What exactly are we doing Al?" I asked my other brother, who smiled brightly.
"We, my lovely little sister, are going to be playing spin the bottle but we won't be kissing." He paused as Jack let out a loud "Damn!" before continuing. "We will be talking about our goals for the new year and stuff."
"How did you even come up with this?" Dani questioned.
"Mom just texted it to me and said we should try it." Everyone laughed, before looking around. "So who's going to start?"
"I will!" Jack volunteered, spinning the bottle so it landed on Rian. "Rian. Go!" He shouted like a young kid.
"Okay." Rian smiled before looking down at me. "I guess my goal is to settle down and take a break.. I have the perfect girl, the perfect life, the perfect house. It's time to just take a break and figure out what's next."
"But what about the band?" Alex asked, his eyes wide.
"I'm not giving up on the band, Al. I just need some time off. We all do. We've been working hard and it's time to just stay home and figure our stuff out. Write music and stuff." Rian smiled sadly. "And it won't be for forever. A month or two would be nice."
"But we're touring up until-" Zack started, but Rian cut him off quickly.
"Until November 3rd. I know. It just seems like the right time to take a break after the wedding and you guys will be wanting one with Violet and baby Mer due."
"I guess you're right.." Alex stated, sadness clear in his voice. I frowned slightly, grabbing my older brother's hand, holding it comfortingly. Rian smiled sadly at him before spinning the bottle, having it land on Dani.
The game continued on for another hour or so until everyone had spoke. Everyone but myself, that is. Zack spun the bottle, the neck facing towards me as all eyes shifted to stare at me.
"Well, this is awkward." I thought out loud, making everyone laugh. "Uh, I guess my goals are to get married to this dork-" I shoved Rian playfully, causing him to wrap his arms around my waist and kiss the top of my head, "- and work on my channel more. This year, I sort of lost my reason for doing what I do. I want to get back into making videos and-" I paused, looking around at my friends and family, people who would support me through any of my endeavors, "and I want to start a company. I want to create a production company that makes films and music videos and stuff like that. I've been tossing around the idea for a while and now just seems like the perfect time to try it."
"That sounds amazing Shay!" Zack smiled.
"I figured that maybe Vi and Dani might want to work there, and maybe we can get All Time Low as clients?" I asked, looking at the band in front of me, who all held excited grins on their faces.
"We'd love to work with-" Rian started, but soon stopped. "What do you want to call it?"
"Cinderblock Studios, I think."
"We'd love to work with Cinderblock Studios."

Midnight was quickly approaching, a little over three minutes until the start of the new year. Everyone was gathered in front of the tv, watching the countdown, second after second passing incredibly slow.
I was curled up next to Rian, my head on his chest. Normally, I would be very lively and talkative, but tonight, I just wanted to be with the ones I love, enjoying the celebration. Violet was long gone, already asleep and in the guest room. Dani was on facetime with Mikey, who's band would be the first performers after the ball dropped. Jack was on a call with Bay, who was back in California with family and Alex and Zack were talking quietly.
Though to some, this would seem very boring, but to us, the group of misfits who seemed to be always moving, this was a delightful change. Rian leaned down and placed a kiss on the top of my head as the final countdown began.
59..58..57..
The announcer stated, the numbers changing as he talked on the screen. I sat up, turning to Rian with a big smile.
43..42..41..
"I can't believe this year is over." I said sadly to my loving fiance.
"It went by so fast-" Rian stated, making Alex turn around.
"You're getting old." Alex chuckled.
"You are too big bro." I laughed with him.
36..35..34..
"New year, new adventure, right Ri?" I asked the man, whose childish grin showed on his face.
"Right. New year, amazing new adventure."
21..20..19..
"This year will be one for the record books." I said to my soon-to-be husband.
"It will. New movie, new album, new wife."
"You say that like there's an old one."
"There is. My drums."
10..9..8..
"I love you Rian." I smiled.
7..6..5..
"I love you too, Shay."
4..3..2..1..
The ball dropped, Rian pulling me into a kiss, a kiss that held love and compassion and an unspoken promise. A promise of a lifetime of memories to come.
