Chapter 2
"Let's see here." Ari says as he lays the book on the table. "The beast that dwells in the sky, wonder what that could be? Here!" Ari points at a monster on a certain page. "It says that the Wyvern is a legendary beast nicknamed the beast that dwells in the sky. It lives in the world of Skie. Skie is the world of the sky, it watches over every world that exists. The Wyvern is the snake like being that can fly and mysteriously appeared one day in the Skie world. It terrorized the citizens for years. It also can change the weather at will. People of the Skie world fought with it until they suppressed it's power and chained it up in a cage. They offer people of the Skie world to it every month to keep it calm. Some people try to face it. They will release it into a battlefield, you can often tell when they're fighting because the weather acts weird. Nobody has ever succeeded in slaying the beast and died in the end." Explains Ari shutting the book when he's done. "So we have to fight this beast?" worries Nase shaking with worry. "No, not yet anyway. We have to gear up, that means making money." Replies Ari clenching his fists in frustration. "Well I say go to the bars and taverns to find out about local ruins and dungeons." Recommends Nase grabbing his sword. "Let's find an adventure!" They travel all over town trying to find something to do to make the littlest money. "I've got a job for you that you can take on. The reward is I'll buy your weapons, armor, staffs whatever you need." Says a young burley man with bright blond hair. "Cool! What is the job?" asks Nase jumping with excitement. "Simple, I need you to go through the dungeon south of here and acquire this necklace." The man replies while pulling out a picture of a necklace with a petite yellow gem on it. "This necklace was a gift for my grandma. It's one of a kind, but those bandits took it and hid in that dungeon." He hands the picture to Ari."Alrighty sir, we'll go get it back for you!" Ari says marching off. "That's North!" yells Nase cupping his hands around his mouth. Ari whisks around heading in the other direction. When they arrive they see two massive stone archways and behind them is a half dome made of stone. It is covered in cracks and moss and looks all decrepit. In the center of the half dome is a giant rotted wooden door. Instead of normal handles the door had two long rusted iron chains and a hoop at the end of them. They both grab a hoop and start pulling. "Nnnnng!" they moan panting as they pull. It is no use though, they are simply too weak to open the door. "Ari don't stand there, check that book of your's!" demands Nase pointing at the book on the ground. "Oh yeah." Ari says as he rushes over to the book. "Alright, Fire shot!" Ari yells as he points at the door. Bullet like objects made of fire shoot at the door causing a mini explosion with each hit. The door is soon blown off its hinges and gets launched through the air. "I meant a spell to make us stronger, but this will do." Says Nase running through the newly formed hole in the wall. "Oh" mumbles Ari, trying to conceal the fact his face is red from embarrassment. They run into the dungeon, instantly noticing several bandits inside. "Hey! You kids, get out you don't know what your getting into!" one of the bandits pushes them out. "Hey, were more powerful then you think!" Ari stands up. "Really show us." Says one bandit while smirking and crossing her arms. "Let me take this one." Nase rushes forward with his sword out. He runs up to one bandit, who tries to block, but Nase slides underneath and slices upward on the bandit. His blood squirts out and drips down Nase sword. He then runs up towards another one and stabs him through the stomach. He then swings his sword around and slits the final bandit's throat. With blood dripping down his sword, and blood spilled on his armor and the ground he states "I'm not weak and i'm not afraid of killing anyone else." "Woah, kid calm down." Says the last bandit dropping to the ground. Nase steps up to the bandit and puts his blade to his face. Without saying a word, he rams the bloody blade through the bandit's forehead. His blood spills onto the ground. "Dear, God Nase! What is wrong with you!" yells Ari, while he stomps over to Nase. "The said we were weak, I had to prove to them we weren't."he wipes the blood of his blade. "There they are!" a group of more bandits charge forward. "Hell's Wrath!" Ari slaps his palm against the ground. A large fissure in the ground sprouts out below them. A few fall in, after that flames hotter than the surface of the sun shoot up from the ground. It burns a lot of them to death. "Sky's Vengence!" he tries to use the spell Blooden used, but it fails and launches Ari back. "Let me take the rest out!" Nase charges forward and starts slicing through the bandits. "Light's Protection!" he flings his arms to the side, creating a light shield. "Can't you cause a little less blood splatter?" complains Ari, as blood splashes against his shield. "No, this is too much fun!" Nase stabs his sword through a chest of a bandit. "Lets go." Nase kicks a body and walks down the steps. "Look at all this treasure!" Ari picks up a giant gold knife. "Never mind that, we need to find that necklace." He then drops the blade. "Hey, Ari look what I found!" Nase thrusts a silver blade into the air. The sword has a silver blade, a silver colored gem at the hilt on each side, the guard is made of steel, and a leather grip. Then out of the gems are two blue orbs. "We are the twin spirits of the blade of elements. Nase Mell we choose you as the wielder of this legendary blade. Just say an element and the blade will usurp the power of that element." They disappear into the gems. "Let's test that out. FIRE!" The silver gems turns reddish orange and the silver blade erupts in flames. He slices through another steel sword. Instead of cutting it though it melts it. "ICE!" The sword's gems turn light blue and ice like mist comes of the blade. He manages to freeze a goblet on the ground. He stomps on it and shatters it. "NORMAL!" The gems turn back to silver and the blade is back to normal. He effortlessly cuts pure metal laying on the ground. "The Blade Of Elements is awesome!" he sheathes it and starts his search for the necklace. "We should have a battle someday. You seem pretty powerful." He kicks over a pot. "Well maybe. Do you hear that?" Ari looks over at a door. He hears a loud snoring coming from inside. "Maybe the necklace is in there?" He points at the door. "Might as well check." Nase replies. The door creaks open. Inside is an alter with the necklace on it. The only problem was that a giant cyclops was sleeping in front of it. He was grey with one massive eye, a large axe, and a cheetah print dress on. "Huh, INTRUDERS!" he barrels towards them. "I think we should just fight back directly."Nase jumps away from the axe. "No! We should think of a plan!" Ari ducks underneath a punch. "You know what? Screw you! I'm doing this my own way!" Nase charges forward. "LIGHTNING!" He slices downward with his sword. The twenty-five foot cyclops flies backward, being electrocuted as he flies. He stabs the arm of the beast and gets his sword stuck. "SKY'S RAINDOWN!" Ari's lightning strikes the monster in the head. "FLAME'S UPROAR!" A spiral of flame hits the beast and sends him through the air. "ENCHANT ME ARI!" Nase spread his arms out. "EXTREME LEGS! STRATO ARMOS HELPUS" A green mist strikes Nase in his chest. "Combining ancient and legendary magic eh?" Nase jumps high into the air. He grabs the cyclop's arm and throws him toward the ground. He flies toward the ground and smashes a hole in the ground. "HYAAAH!" He kicks the butt of the sword handle and drives it through his arm the whole way. "MY TURN! WATEROS GUYSER FLAME FIES!" he combines more ancient and legendary magic. Using fire and water types together, he creates a type of magic he hasn't learned yet, steam magic. A steam guyser shoots out below the cyclopes and shoots him back up through the air. "LIGHT!" Nase erupts his blade in light. "DARKNESS CLOAK SUPPORT!" Ari shoots darkness which envelopes itself with the light of Nase's blade. "What are you doing?" Nase jumps through the air. "THE POWER OF OPPOSITES!" Ari shouts back. "ALRIGHT HYAAH!" he rams his blade through the chest of the cyclopes. The light shoots straight through the chest and the darkness wraps itself around the cyclopes and crushes it. They land on the ground and laughs went the limp, cold body of the cyclopes crashes against the ground. "HAHAHA! That was easier than expected!" Nase slaps Ari on the back. "YEAH!"Ari high fives Nase back. "YOU REALLY THINK AN ATTACK LIKE THAT WOULD INJURE ME!" The cyclopes roars. He climbs up completely unscathed. He slices Nase's leg off with his axe. "NASE!" Ari turns his head, but his grabbed by the wrist and slammed against the ground. Ari loses a tooth and has blood pouring out of his nose and mouth. Nase is laying limp on the ground in a pool of blood. "HNG!" Ari tries to climb up but is grabbed by his throat and lifted into the air. "I WILL KILL ANY INTRUDERS!" The cyclopes roars. He throws Ari into the air. He punches Ari in the stomach. He feels like he is getting stabbed through the stomach with a large spear. Blood pores out of his eyes, mouth, nose, and even ears! The cyclopes back slaps Ari into the wall. The wall has a hole in it and crumbling. "AAH!" his legs and arms and ribs are clearly broken. "To think you took out a dragon by yourself! A dragon doesn't even compare to the strength of other monsters in this world. Besides that was a level fifty dragon." The cyclopes explains. "What are levels?" Ari crawls over. "Each species of monster is divided into strength categories. Not just monsters, humans and animals too! Level one is the strongest type in that species, while level fifty is the weakest. You are probably a level forty eight, I am level forty five. A level fifty though of other species can be stronger than a level one of cyclopes species. So basically the strongest species are Kobars, Gods, Demons, and even Legendaries. That Wyvern you are going after is a level fifty legendary. It is stronger than a level twenty five cyclopes. If you can't beat me, you have no hope of beating those legendaries and other beasts." He continues. "You may think I can't beat you, I don't think I can beat you either. SURGEON'S MENDING." Ari casts a spell that in cases Nase in light. Nase floats into the air, as well does his severed leg. Then in a blinding flash of light, his leg is reattached to his body. "Healing max!" Ari heals himself. "FLAMING ICE!" Nase lifts his blade into the air. One gem is red, and one gem is blue. Half of the blade is encased in flame, and the other half in ice. He rushes forward and slices with ice. The cyclopes is frozen, he then hits him with flame and sends the beast through the wall into another room. "My turn, FIRES FROM BELOW!" Flame shoots up from the ground, piercing the skin of the cyclopes. "WATER LIGHTNING!" Nase douses the cyclopes in water and electrocutes the cyclopes. "ICE PHANTOM!" The ground cracks and out from it climbs a golem of pure ice. It slices at the cyclopes creating deep gashes within the skin. "WATER SLICING!" he sends swords made of water too create more cuts within the body. "DARKNESS LIGHT!" Nase slices at the leg of the beast. The cyclopes has gotten smart though, he kicks Nase in the stomach and goes flying into Ari's chest. "Sorry Ari!" Nase climbs up and reaches his hand out. "It's okay Nase!" He grabs his hand and hauls himself up. "Nase is level forty five, more powerful than you wizard boy." The cyclopes hauls his axe over his shoulder. "Did you call me weaker!" Ari raises his hand into the air. "If i'm more powerful than you, i'm gonna fight! NORMAL FLAME!" Nase charges forward, hacking at the chest of the cyclopes. "O' SPIRIT OF THE BOOK I NEED YOUR HELP!" out of the spell book, comes the spirit. "Yes master?" asks the spirit. "I need a powerful spell, could you help me? Also what is your name?" he points to the cyclopes. "Aaah, a level forty five cyclopes. By the way my name is Spirato. Anyway here you go." The pages start turning rapidly. It opens to a page titled "The Demigod's Curse." An incantation is scribbled above a picture. The picture shows a human, who is taller than average, slaying a legendary. "Nase i'm not going to let you win!" the book floats in midair. "What NO! I will kill this thing!" Nase has been slicing up the cyclopses. "Demigod, give me your power to slay beings of power. I sacrifice a single gold coin for this." Ari flips a gold coin through the air. It turns to ashes and flies away with the breeze. "Now, rain your vengeance down upon thy beings." Ari slams his hand onto the ground. Purple magic shoots up in patterns around Ari. It shoots forward. It looks like arrows raining through the air. Thousands of them strikes the cyclopes in the chest. Then a hammer comes crashing down on top of the beast. After pounding the cyclopes through the ground, the cyclopes gets a taste of his own medicine. A phantom axe swings through midair and decapitates the monster. Blood squirts high into the air, dousing everything in the room. The cyclopse's head rolls along the floor. Nase stares at it in awe. "What, we don't have time to gawk. Get that amulet!" Ari demands Nase. "Fine, fine." Nase rushes over and grabs the amulet. "By the way, you owe me one, I healed your leg." Ari points at the scar spiraling alongside Nase's leg. "Yeh, yeh. Let's get out of here." Nase rushes to the exit. They decide to admire the scenery. The hills are dotted with luscious green trees and daisies. The faint smell of grass fills the air as a deer takes a long drink from the fresh water stream. A rainbow trout jumps from the water as an eagle swoops down and catches it. "You know, when you forget about the whole evil cult is trying to wreak havoc on the world thing, this place is beautiful!" Nase admires the nature around him. "One day we should go hunting, not for anything though. Maybe dragon hunting?" Ari points to a cave dug into the ground. "Wanna check it out before we head back? Have some fun?" Nase draws his sword. "Well I guess, lets go." They walk into the cave. It's damp and dusty with spider and centipedes crawling over the ground. "There seems to be an abnormal feeling in here. Like a presence is watching us." Nase looks around worried. "Don't be silly, nothing bad his here." Ari pats Nase on the shoulder. "Hello travelers, I am Grants, the apparition who will show you what you deepest desire and grant it." A female voice echoes through the cavern. A light shines through a hole in the roof lighting the domed cavern. "Oooh Nase you are first. Let's show you what you most desire."
