Chapter 7

When Anna woke up she smelled bacon,"hmmmm my favorite." Anna pulled on her favorite pair of wranglers and an old t-shirt she go when she went to the PBR. Finally when she was down she stepped out of her camper to see Lane cooking the bacon. she assumed he did not see her so she tried to creep up. Lane turned around holding the spatula like a sword," Step away from the bacon," Lane said swinging the spatula like darth vador swings his light saver.

"I only wanted one piece," Anna replied with a fake pouty face.

"Well you can wait, and when I finish we can go check on the animals,"

"Sounds like a deal."

once the bacon was done cooking Lane and Anna headed to the barn. there they met Roger he did not look very happy and they both knew why. Roger began, "Where were you last night you did not come home after the dance i figured you were with Anna. And i did not like the idea of,"

"Don't worry dad nothing happened i slept in the horse trailer tack room,"

"Alright but don't let it happen again and not call me, now get to work!"

Anna was always slightly scared of Roger he was a big brod man. he had a some facial hair and always kept his black stetson pulled down low all the time. he was kind but usually kept to himself, he occasionally laughed when another victim was dumped in to the water trough.

Anna and Lane went out to where their animals were tied t check on them and walk them to the water trough where Anna had taken an unexpected swim. she kept a close eye on Lane making sure Lane was not planning another surprise. After the animals got a long drink Anna headed to her trailer to get her shampoo and foamer so she could wash her steer and heifers. when she got back she saw Lane already standing at the wash rack with his steer, Bob.

"Well ain't someone an over acheiver," Anna said sarcastingly.

"Why yes i am i am glad you have fully understood."

"Well okay than," Anna replied with a giant grin.

Anna walked over to Bud her steer. she greeted him and gave him a scratch behind the head. "How are you Bud?"

She than lead him over to the wash rack next to Lane. Bud was one of Anna's favorite steers. He was very calm no matter what happened and was very lade back. Anna glimpsed over at Lane and saw him soothingly talking to Bob. Lane was very sweet and he had away with animals. Anna decided he had much more patience than most of the cowboys she had ever known. Especially Bryan, Anna winced at the thought of his name.

Lane was know in the middle of rinsing Bob's soap out of his hair. he caught a glimpse at Anna and smiled he was fully getting the effect that she was his. he grinned he really liked her and hoped he didn't screw it up. Anna and Lane both finished but washing there steers and heifers Anna took just awhile longer because she had to wash her hair. when they were done they left the cattle outside to dry.

Today was the junior rodeo both Anna and Lane were signed up to compete. they walked hand in hand to the horse barn there they continued there morning chores and made sure everything was in check.

"What are you doing in the rodeo again?" Lane asked breaking the silence that consumed them most of the morning.

"I have barrels and bull riding," Anna replied glad to finally have something to talk about.

Lane stopped in his tracks, "Wait why did i never know of this are you out of your mind. these are bulls not steers you can ride at your brandings." Anna was taken aback she knew Lane was not gonna ike it but she did not think he would be that upset,

" Yes for your information i am crazy, that is why i am riding. An buddy this is not my first rodeo i have rode before and i am pretty damn good so watch your back you might just have some new competition ." Anna stormed off she was upset which she usually was when someone said anything about her riding she had been doing it for three years know. Anna figured she over reacted but she didnt care who was Lane to say anything about bull riding he does it just as much as her if not more.
