Ch.9

"Come in," Mr. Reeds said without looking at the door. It slowly opened to reveal Windy.
"Ah, Miss. Dinon, please have a seat," Mr. Reeds said kindly as he gestured to the last empty chair in the office. He explained the whole thing to her and by the end, she was bawling her eyes out as she hugged Katie.
"M-Mr. Reeds?" Katie asked shakily.
"Yes?" He answered softly.
"Can I-I have o-one more per-person come?"
"Of course. Who would that be?" he asked thoughtfully.
"I w-would like t-to have Tw-two-bit Mathews t-to come." She finished, looking down at her feet.
"Are you sure?" Mr.Reeds asked uncertainly. Katie just nodded her head. "Alright, I'll be right back." He said as he got up and left to go find Two-bit. When they came back, it appeared Two-bit already knew. "I told him what happened as we walked here, so he already knows. Well, if that's the last of the people that you want, who do want to call to take you to the hospital?" He asked, looking at Katie.
"Please call Darrel Curtis, he is at work, but I'm sure he will still come to get us," Katie said quietly, she had finally stopped crying. You had stopped crying too. While Mr.Reeds was calling Darry, you looked around Emily sitting alone, Katie sitting next to Johnny who had his arm around her, Windy who was sitting on Two-bit's lap since there weren't enough chairs and you who were sitting next to Ponyboy. You looked up at him and noticed that he had red eyes, he was crying too. You kissed his cheek and he kissed your forehead.
Mr.Reeds finished calling Darry and said that he would be coming soon. You all waited silently until you heard two knocks. Darry walked in and told you all to come with him. All seven of you followed him out the door and said goodbye to Mr.Reeds.
---------time skip to the hospital---------
You all ran into the waiting room and asked the lady where Katie's mom was. The lady said that only family could go in, so she led Katie into her mom's room as the rest of you sat and waited in the waiting room impatiently. Katie finally came out and sat next to Johnny as she cried into his shoulder.
"What's wrong Katie?" Johnny asked softly.
"S-she's de-dead," Katie answered as she trembled uncontrollably.

Since then, she has been living with Emily. Her mom and dad were not particularly excited about having to pay for another person living in their house, but they were happy to help Katie.
______Time skip to fall break _____
You, Pony, Johnny, and Darry were currently in Darry's truck on the way to the forest. The rest of the gang was in Dally's car. When you got to your cabin, you immediately got into your black, green, and blue swimsuit. You got a towel and waited for other people to come. Pony got into his blue and black swim trunks and Dally got into his blue with pineapple print swim trunks. You guys headed down to the creek and splashed each other and played in the water. There were really big and smooth rocks going upstream, so you decided to explore. You three walked along the slippery rocks until Dally slipped and fell into the water. You got tired from laughing and decided to go back.
When you got back, you saw Emily there.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" You said as you got bundled in a towel.
      "Oh, well my parents took Windy to the water park and I didn't want to go, so try dropped me off here," Emily replied while sitting on the red couch. You went and took a shower to wash out your hair and when you got out, Pony went in. Emily helped you pick out your clothes. It was a white tank top, light jeans, a black and white jacket, a choker that says love, golden hoop earrings, and black white, and gold high tops. Emily was wearing a grey sweater with a black heart on it, black jeans, a white knit beanie, black sunglasses, and grey vans. For your hair, you did one tiny braid on both sides of your face, then pinned them to the back of your head. Emily just did a plain braid on herself. For makeup, you just put some bronzer and lipstick on, and Emily put some eyeshadow and lipgloss on. Pony came out of the shower and put on a Beatles t-shirt with some black pants and greased back his hair. He looked so dreamy.
      You heard a car leave and moved the curtains to look out the window. You saw Dally and Emily leave in his car to go get dinner.
      "Pony! Hurry and get your shoes on, we need to go now!" you yelled as you laced up your high tops.
      "What's the rush?" he asked as he pulled his socks on.
      "I just saw Dally and Emily leave! We were supposed to go with them!" you answered restlessly.
      "Oh, okay, I'll try to go as fast as I can." Pony said as he put on his black vans. When he finished, you guys ran out the door to go find Dally and Emily. You guys were not talking, just running. The only sound was your breath and the gravel crunching under your feet. You started getting near a town and caught a glimpse of a guy with a blue long sleeve t-shirt, grey high tops, and a red beanie. That was what Dally was wearing. You ran towards that spot with Ponyboy behind you and found Dally and Emily kissing behind a tropical-themed restaurant. You decided to leave them alone and to go into the restaurant.
      When you came inside, the lady at the front said," I'm sorry, but this restaurant is reservations only."
      Both you and Pony were looking for some fun, so you said, "Oh, but we do have a reservation."
      "Well then, under what name?" the lady asked. Pony walked a little behind the lady and looked at the reservations list. He mouthed the names, Sam and Queenie to you.
      "Um, Sam and Queenie" you answered, hoping that you read Ponyboy's lips correctly.
      "Alright," the lady said as she wrote something on the reservations list, "if you'll just follow me." She led you to a higher table with two chairs. You and Pony sat down and ordered drinks. You both got Shirley temples. You sat and talked as you drank until two people came up to you. The lady was wearing a black tank top under a black and white flannel jacket, black ripped jeans, a dark purple beanie, black converse high tops, and two silver rings. The guy was wearing a grey t-shirt, a grey sweatshirt tied around his waist, ripped jeans, a grey beanie, and black sneakers.
      "We're Queenie and Sam." The girl said as she looked at you. You and Pony looked at each other, then made a run for it. You didn't stop running until you got all the way back to the cabin. Nobody was there, they were probably all out getting dinner. You still hadn't eaten yet, so you two make some ramen. When it's ready, both of you bring it into the room that you share. You got out the book that you are reading, A Wrinkle In Time, and started reading while eating. Ponyboy followed your lead and took out the book he's reading, Slaughterhouse 5, and read and ate.
      You heard the door open and close and heard a lot of people come in. Probably the whole gang.
      "I hear noises, YOU TWO BETTER NOT BE KISSING!" Darry yelled as he walked towards your room. He opened the door with force and saw you two on the bed eating and reading. You burst into laughter because he thought you were kissing but you were just eating ramen. He looked flustered as he told you it was too late and that you should get to bed. You and Pony got into your pajamas and cuddles together as you fell asleep to the steady rise and fall of Pony's chest.
