"Wait.." i blurred out not knowing what to say

"Wh-"i was cut off
" Charisma Adam , He is.."

"So you're telling me that you knew that your friend was getting kidnaped , you kept it a secret and you helped with it?!WHAT KIND OF A FRIEND ARE Y-"
"CHARISMA ADAM IS DIAGNOSED WITH LUNG CANCER"he bursted out, the most unexpected thing ever said
And my heart started racing like crazy , am i hearing right?
"Wh-what ar-re you saying" i couldn't speak properly
"You're lying aren't you?" I asked hoping his answer would be yes
"Charisma pleas-" "John please tell me this is a lie" i said my hands shaking
"we'll sit in a café I'll explain everything, come on" John said leading both of us to a café that i couldn't see the name because my eyes were focused on the floor , thinking.

I held my hot chocolate between my hands , shaking my leg impatiently
"How did he find out?" I asked
"Lately Adam has been coughing blood a lot , i never knew till last month after letting you go , i caught him unconscious on the floor in my apartment , so i immediately called the doctor home , because you know he's wanted and i couldn't take him to the hospital , so i got him a doctor that we could trust
he never wanted me to do that but i insisted because my Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer too , i didn't want to lose someone else."
Before he had finished i feel a warm tear falling on my cheek
"Why hadn't he told me?" I asked
"He never wanted anyone to know , he 'don't want other people loving him out of pity' especially you that's what he said" John said taking a sip of his Mojito
" that's why Charisma you can't tell him that you know, you have to act normal around him okay?" John said
How could i ever act normal again? I thought to myself
"And please stay with him" John started again
" i am not asking you to act like you love him or anything like this, but don't be too harsh on him he loves you very much"
