KONAMI POV
My mom opened the door before I could even put my key in the lock. I walked past her without saying a word. I was still salty from the night before. I went into my room and sat my bookbag down. My mom came in shortly. She was just standing there looking at me for what seemed like forever."What?" I asked getting impatient.
"How was school today?" She said.
"Dude why were you standing there for that long, only to ask me how my day was?"
"Are you kidding? Is it a crime to ask."
"Yep. Now it is."
"Konami. I'm trying to be nice honey."
"Oh really? I'm sorry, I didn't realize how stupid I'm being."
"OK. Fine. I'm trying to make peace. I was going to ask you if you wanted to go to the spa to have a nice time with me, but no."
I raised one eyebrow in confusion. "Do you think I care? I have skin care masks in the bathroom."
"Why do you have to be so cold to me?"
"Because you grounded me, and told me I couldn't go to the auditions."
"Well you did a horrible thing. You didn't even ask me for one. You cut school, and went shopping Konami. Shopping. We just got here. Be normal before you try to be famous, you haven't even given the normal life a chance yet. Focus on school, and finish it. Go to college, and finish it. After that, find a job and settle down." She walked to my doorway. "I need you to be my daughter. Not an idol. I don't wanna see my daughter on tv. I wanna see her in real life, in the flesh. Why can't you just me my daughter? A normal one at that."
That pissed me off. A normal one? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?? I got up and slammed the door in her face. "MAYBE I DONT WANNA BE YOUR DAUGHTER ANYMORE. I WISH MY DAD WERE HERE."
Silence.... Okay. Now I felt bad. I stood there for a minute, and heard her grab the keys off the table, and the front door shut. Shit. I went too far once again. I grabbed my phone to text her.
Me: Mom... I'm sorry.
No reply. She left me on read. I don't blame her for that. I sighed and grabbed my suitcase. I started packing some clothes, and makeup for my trip to Seoul. Daehyun and I would be leaving in a few hours. We'd have to leave a little earlier though, if we wanted to get a close hotel. I took my uniform off and put on a black T-shirt and some grey sweatpants. I tossed my shoes to the side, and put on some Nike sneakers. I tied my hair up in a messy bun and plopped on my bed. I grabbed my phone to call Savanna. No answer. That's odd... I call her again and wait for her to answer. Sent straight to voicemail. I shrugged it off. She'll call me back. I grabbed a pen and a piece of paper writing my mom a note, telling her where I was, and apologizing once more. I put my phone in my pocket and grabbed my suitcase. I put my toothbrush, and shampoo in it, and pulled it outside. Daehyun was just coming outside when I was. He helped me with my suitcase, and put it in his car. He looked really tired. I noticed bags under his eyes.
"You okay?" I ask.
"I'm fine. Why do you ask?"
"I don't know.. You just look really tired."
"Do I? Well I don't feel tired."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Konami. I promise I'm fine. Now get in my car."
"Yes sir." I replied sarcastically.
"So how is it with you and your mom?"
"I think I hurt her feelings Daehyun. I mentioned my father in one of our fights. I feel like I really really hurt her."
"Konami. Come on, you know you can't do low blows like that in arguments. You say stuff that you regret, and then you end up feeling SUPER guilty."
"Thanks Dr. Phil."
"Oh my God," Daehyin said rolling his eyes, "Get in the car."
I laughed and we started having a conversation while walking to the car. Suddenly Daehyun jumped. His phone was vibrating. I chuckled to myself. He was definitely tired. When he answered the phone, he started rolling his eyes. Then he started yelling at someone to leave him alone. I rolled my eyes too. I knew it was Minji. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it, letting him know of my support. He smiled a half smile, but it quickly faded away, because he went back to arguing again. I looked at them time on my phone and signaled for him to wrap it up. He nodded and simply hung up. Daehyun unlocked the car doors, and we both got in.
"Minji called again?" I asked.
"Yes and she's getting on my nerve. She won't stop harassing me. The other day I caught her out back near the dumpsters, with a camera in her hand. I threatened to get a restraining order, but she laughed in my face. She walked off after that."
"That sneaky thing! What was she doing behind the apartments with a camera in her hand??"
"I wish I knew. When I tried questioning her, she started threatening me. Later that day, my mom called, and asked what the hell Minji was talking about."
"Huh? Minji got your mom to question you??"
Daehyun nodded. "She was making false accusations, and making my mom really upset and worried."
"What were the accusations?"
Daehyun paused. "Uh.. Erm. I don't exactly know. I just know that my mother was worried."
I had a feeling Daehyun was lying about something. He always kept stuttering and pausing every time I asked him a question. I wondered what he was keeping from me..
"Are you sure you don't know? You can tell me anything Daehyun."
DAEHYUN POV
I really wanted to tell her, but I just couldn't. She'd freak out and be super pissed at me."I'm sure" I say.
Konami squints her eyes at me and give me a look as if she's trying to read my mind. I keep my eyes on the road and avoid contact with hers. She grabs my free hand and squeezes it again. God she's so supportive, but I still felt horrible inside. Minji has been terrorizing my family and I. She dropped off a fucking pregnancy test at my door. She's called my mom and told her that she was pregnant, AND on top of that went to my dad's office, and tries to tell him about it too. If it wasn't for security escorting her out, she would have gotten to my father, and I would have been chewed meat. What if she really was pregnant though? I would have to marry her, and that would be a guaranteed nightmare. Plus, I'm definitely not ready for a baby. I'm not even out of college yet. I was interrupted from my thoughts by Konami singing softly. She turned the radio up a little and sang along with I.U. She sounded so angelic, and cute. I smiled and focused on the road, humming along to the song with her. She looked over at me and smiled.
