Maryse led us to the training floor and had us line up.

"Okay, first we are going to work on hands on, no weapons fighting. Everything is just you. You will be paired up in partners and since there is an odd number of you, I have decided to bring in some of my other grandchildren to train a little with us today. Merissa! Jason! Ashley! Oh, here they are." In walked the three people that woke me up this morning. They all smiled at me and the red headed girl waved.

"Hey, Amanda!" Merissa called. She ran up to me and dragged me into a bone crushing hug. I let her hug me but quickly let go.

"Let's train, everyone! Amanda, you will go with Bridget." I walked over to the young blonde. She stared at me in disgust.

"Who even are you're parents?" Maryse trained me for this question. I couldn't say Magnus was my father because no one could know I was a warlock.

"Alec Lightwood is my father and my mother died in child birth with me." She still looked at me with disgust.

"Isn't that Lightwood boy gay?" Bridget glanced around hoping no one was listening, "To tell you the truth, I was upset that no one would inherit those eyes. not even you did." I couldn't wait to take this girl down.

"Okay, you can start sparing now." Maryse called out then she sat down watching.

"Come on, Lightwood, show me what you got." She drew back her arm, but I saw it coming and dodged the punch easily. "How'd you do that?" I just smiled and kept my arms down the whole time. By the end of training, I had only dodged and Bridget was lying on the floor exhausted.

"Nice, Amanda. And you didn't even move. That's it for today." Maryse walked out of the training room leaving us all standing there sweating and tired.

"I don't understand how you came into the world. You look nothing like Alec and unless your mother was secretly a transgender man then I don't think your stupid ugly homo dad would have had you." It's like Bridget wants to die.

"I got most of my looks from my mother. Again she died in child birth." I told her. She glanced at me, looking still confused.

"Who is you mother?"

"That is none of your business." I quickly exited the room and saw Merissa sparing with her brother, Jason.

"Hey, Amanda! How was training?" Jason yelled over to me as I walked by. I just shrugged at him and kept walking.

"You can't shut people out at this place. Its seems like here, everyone knows your secrets." Merissa yelled out after me. I quickly turned around and came face to face with her.

"Its this stupid Bridget girl. She is super nosy and can't mind her own business. She thinks she is better than everyone else and then she decides to make fun of my family. I can't stand her and I don't know how I am going to train with her for the rest of the time I'm here." It felt weird ranting to a girl I just met but I can see Merissa and I being good friends, especially since her dad is my Uncle Jace.

"Well you're going to have to ignore her and just continue training."

"How can I ignore a girl that I have to see everyday? She's in my training group." I silently groaned a little and wished that the stress of my life would just go away. Not only to I have to put up with her but I also have to hide the fact that I am a warlock trying to become a shadowhunter.

"It's going to be hard but I'm sure you can manage. You seem strong and Maryse is already impressed with you. I can tell." Jason said. I guess he did have a point. Maryse wasn't impressed with Bridget because she couldn't even land a punch on me but Alec had trained me and no matter how good Bridget is, I was trained by a better mentor.

"How about we get something to eat? But nothing of Aunt Izzy's, okay? I don't want you dying on your first day." Merissa then proceeded to grab my hand and pull me towards the exit of the training room.
