Amanda sits passenger seat giggling and eating candy as I suffer listening to her classical crap. She knows I hate it, which is why she makes it a point to play it everytime we drive together. I try to joke around with her but that massive bruise on her collar bone won't leave my mind. It could just be an accident from basketball or something but...i don't know. What if it's something serious? "Helloooo?" Amanda breaks me out of my mind.
"Yes? Sorry. I was just thinking."
"Thinking about what?" She replies.
"Nothing. Dont worry about it."
"Okaay. So anyway this piece is the one and only Frederic Chopin. I really love the way he wrote all of his music"
"This is so horrible. Please turn it off"she laughs at this and says.
"Nu-uh. Don't you know the person in the passenger seat chooses the music?" She then proceeds to laugh and turn it up.
"You know, I really hate you sometimes." I say putting on my best upset face. She sees right through me.
"Nahhh you love me." I look over and she has the most beautiful smile ever.
"Dangit. Why do you always have to be right..."

We then pull into her driveway. I see an immediate shift in her mood. She gets all gloomy and takes her time getting out the car.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
"Nothing," she replies, "just tired."
"Okay well go take a nap then." I say getting out the car. I give her a tight squeeze and she winces, as if in pain."Oh, sorry! I'm sure you are still hurting from the girls. I'm such an idiot.
"No it's fine. I'll be okay. See you tomorrow!" And with that I get back in the car and drive myself home. Once again, to an empty house.
