"Today is the day, no chickening out." I tell myself as I pull into the school.
First period.
"Get on the line!" Coach yells at us. Damn it Jake. He always screws it up for the rest of us.
"You will all be doing suicides until the end of this period! If I see anyone slacking we will do the same tomorrow. Go!"

"You dumbass." I say to Jake in a shaky breath while I sprint across the basketball court.

"Hey! Why do you always blame me?"

"Because you are to blame."

"Ok whatevs. We all have to run anyway." He says chuckling. This pisses me off when he starts laughing so I easily speed up to get away from him which earns me an applause from Coach for pushing myself.

"Alright get out of here," says Coach. "You all are stinking up my gym!"

The next two periods are over in no time at all and it's lunch. I sit at my usual table with Jake, Aaron, Mikey, and Alex. We sit joking around and eating when I spot Amanda. She is sitting at a table across the room all alone. It bewilders me that she is alone because she is just amazing. "Hey you guys, I'll be right back."
"Where are you going?" Alex asks.

"Gonna go sit with Amanda."

"THAT LOSER?! Stop wasting your time, man.

"Shut the fuck up dude. No one asked you." And with that I walk away. I walk up behind her and tap her shoulder. She immediately jumps and cowers away from me. "Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. Do you mind if I sit with you?"

"Um..yeah. I mean no! I don't mind. Sorry, yes you can sit." She says. Well that was adorable. The way she stumbles with her words, is, idk. Just amazing.

"So um, I've just been wanting to talk to you." I say not knowing how else to make conversation.

"Oh..why would you want to talk to me?"

"Why not?"

"Well most people think I'm a loser.."

"Prove them wrong. I'm willing to give you a shot."

"Oh ok. Be prepared to be wowed I guess" she says with a cute little giggle. Then she looked down and covered her face with her long hair.

"Hey," I say pushing the hair out of her face, "You don't have to be so shy. You have a beautiful smile." I say with a smile.

"Oh thankyou.."she blushes. After that we talk for the rest of out lunch period and I believe I feel like I already fell in love with her. The rest of my day is filled with blurry classes and vived images of Amanda and I talking and laughing. Forgetting about the world together. It's the end of the day and I am sprinting to my car because it starting pouring outside. As I drive down the road I see someone walking home it looks like. I stop my car and roll down my window. It's Amanda. "What are you doing walking home in the rain!?" I say to her.

"I don't have a car."

"What about your parents?"

"Oh um..they uh, don't have time. I guess."

"Well hop in then."

"Are you sure?"

"Yep."

"Okay." She says with a grateful smile. She gets in my passenger seat and looks out the window. Suddenly she looks me straight in the eye. "You have a crappy taste in music, you know that?" She says changing the radio station in my car. She changes it to classical.

"Really? You are insulting my music so that you can put on classical?" I laugh at that.

"Classical is real music." she says with a smug smile defending her beloved music.

"Whatever you say." I say playfully rolling my eyes. We drive the rest of the way to her house and I'm sad the car ride is over. I liked having her company.

"You know. I don't see any cars home...when do your parents get home?"

"Usually around 7, why?"

"You can come to my house. I have pizza and Netflix."

"Umm yeah. That sounds amazing actually," She says, "Well, let's go. What are you waiting for!" She laughs at herself. Which makes me fall a little more in love with her.
