October 14th, 2003

The season of autumn had arrived, bringing a bearable chilling breeze. The city was changing from green to beautiful colour of orange and yellow. It was almost as if the city was on fire from the change of colour that had blossomed on every living nature around the roads.

Julia liked seeing a change in a very long time since living in the mansion of his uncle. It was almost dreadful being caged in one place. Uncle Rustam was too weak to take her and her father for a tour in the city and her fiancé, well… he was no where to be seen after the unfortunate encounter she had witnessed him having with his father.

So it was all left for Julia to take the lead and view the city by her own. First thought that occurred to her mind when she took a stroll around the city was enormous. The city was enormous and really complicated. She always had trouble finding her way back home, but luck was always by her side to lead her back to the right direction.

She always wished if luck could be bys her side during the times she was thinking about Henry. There was no trace of his existence after that night and uncle Rustam always seem to come up with reasons of his absence that calmed her father’s worries down.

It was normal to say that Julia and her father were worrying, but one look from uncle Rustam and his reasons brought a calming sensation within them.

But now as Julia was standing in front of a large mirror, all dressed up in her weeding gown, a tense and anxious feeling was emerging down her belly. She was wishing for luck to be by her side for a time such as this for she was going to see Henry face to face for the very first time.

She didn’t know where all the excitement she used to contain in herself disappeared to. She had such wonderful dreams and hopes of her and Henry living together as a happy couple and having their happily ever after. But now knowing the fact that it wasn’t easy as she thought it would be, she felt unsure.

She felt unsure of her decision and most of all, out of place.

The hall they were in was extremely exquisite. There were so many things in the room that was above anything they were able to afford. It seemed that Rustam had done everything in his power to make everything look marvellously perfect.

By staring at her reflection, It felt safe for Julia to think that she looked beautiful. She didn’t look plain and simple like she did everyday at the house, but a complete another whole person. She had to say, people in the city sure knew how to transform a person to a complete different face.

Her make up was done beautifully and hair laid flawlessly down her back. It wasn’t messy and all over her face like the previous times, but stayed in one place, giving others the full view of her face.

As she looked down at her gown, a small smile formed on her lips. Her mother’s dress fitted her perfectly in all the right places of her body. It was as if it was made for her. Even if the current situation wasn’t something she was looking forward to, she was at least glad she had something on her that made it worth all her troubles.

At the last moment as Julia was making sure she was looking her best, her father decided to step in the room.

The moment his eyes found the form of his daughter, he stopped full tracks on his step and stared at his daughter with full awed expression. There was no hiding or suppressing of any emotions like old times.

He took his time staring at her and slowly, a small smile formed on his lips.

Julia didn’t know how to react to her father’s sudden reaction. But his expression was telling her that she was looking suitable as a bride. Her father stepped closer and reached for her hand.
