My name is Abbey Marks. I live in New York in a little town called Roseline. I am 14 and this is how my story starts.

I started to run home. I couldn't stand this cold. It was the middle of December. I missed Florida -our last vacation spot- where it was nice and warm. I was approaching my door when I tripped over something. I looked back at what made me trip. It was a stone arm, probably from the statue standing in Mrs. Leaty's yard. Wait. She hated statues. She couldn't stand the space wasted by them.

"Mom!" I looked at it, hoping it was just a prank done by those ridiculous boys down the street. They loved pranking people.

"Mom! Get out here!" I kept waiting for her as the sun began to set on the deserted Cul-De-Sac. I decided to turn and pound on the door, having lost my key last week. I looked back at the statue. No boys. They had gone on vacation like the rest of the kids in my school. Wasn't that statue just in Mrs. Leaty's yard? How did it get half way to my house? Just then a strange noise like a car refusing to start resounded against the buildings as a blue police public call box -yes, I do know my history- appeared nearby.

"What the-" The door was pulled open and a man poked his head out. The first thing I noticed was his bowtie. Then I took in the rest. He had a simple tweed jacket, side swept brown hair, blue eyes, and a very obvious jawline. He was definitely not normal.

"Nice outfit." He smiled at my white dress and deep blue dress coat the same color as his police box. He frowned at my ginger hair. "Lucky you." I frowned. I never liked my fiery red hair or the freckles and temper to match it.

"Do you like space?" I frowned at the random question.

"As in?"

"Planets, galaxies, stars, aliens, outer space. Do you like it?" He pointed at the science book poking out of my bag. "Wait! I came here for something!" He turned on his heel to face the stone angel behind him.

"Oh hello, you." He frowned, very upset. "I lost the Ponds to your friends. That is a day I will not forget." He was near furious now. He handed me a video camera and a screen.

"Set it up. We can trap it in a circuit and it will be trapped in oblivion." I didn't argue with him but got to work as soon as I could. In moments it was gone and the video feed vanished.

"Who are you?"

"The Doctor." He smiled. Weird name but I didn't ask anymore questions.

"Abbey." I followed him into his police box.

"It's bigger on the inside!" He smiled at my simple statement.

"I love when they say that." He flew around the center piece pushing buttons, pulling levers, and making lots of noise.

"Where to?" He asked, glancing in my direction.

"Anywhere!"

He could have stayed. The impossible inside was enough for me but we were going somewhere! I knew my mother would have had a heart attack with the statue. Maybe she was fine and fled. That would have been the smart thing.

The room lurched and stopped, the pillar in the middle having finally stopped. It echoed with the same sound I heard earlier. We had arrived at our destination...
