Poseidon wasn't happy. His previous girlfriend the esteemed beauty had been turned into a gorgon by one of his greatest enemies Athena. Poseidon hadn't been to upset about Medusa herself seeing as she was a mortal and there wasn't a chance for a long term relationship. He was unhappy with the fact that Athena had tried to humiliate him. Little did Athena know that Poseidon had somebody else in his life, the gorgeous Sally Jackson was with their one year old son Perseus.
"Perseus..." Poseidon thought, " a worthy child." The child was that of nothing short of the pinnacle of finery. Perseus was more beautiful than any other demigod of the time even as a baby of one year of age. A mop of shiny and silky black hair, sea green eyes that stared into the soles of a person, a defined face for even at the age of one Perseus or Percy had lost all of his baby fat. Sally couldn't be more proud... which was better for Poseidon seeing as when assigned quest, Poseidon could tell Sally that Percy was gaining her great honor.
Nothing was more important than honor. Without honor Percy would be nothing and since would have to die. Poseidon would not take another shot of embarrassment in his life after Medusa. It wouldn't turn out like that. He couldn't let it turn out like that! The stress of making sure Percy was a great warrior was almost to much to bear and Sally refused to send him over to Chiron for training.
Poseidon would have to take matters into his own hands... Chiron was more than willing to raise the child, without mercy as instructed. "Sally wasn't in charge of the child," Poseidon decided, " after all, the child was half his." He could do what he wanted with Percy. If done right, Percy wouldn't even remember Sally. Poseidon had decided, Percy would be sent to Chiron's with or without Sally's consent. Nobody could stop him.
