THE VISIT TO THE DOCTOR

Scarlet's POV

We went to visit a nearby hospital and registered at the reception. We waited for our turn to visit the doctor during my appointment.

I didn't like hospitals because it reminded when I saw my parents for the last time before they left us.

"Are you okay? " Charles asks and takes hold of my hands, giving them a tight squeeze.

"I'm fine. Just... this reminds me of my parents. " I answered.

"I'm sorry. " he said, regretting bringing me to the hospital.

"It okay, Charles. I know you care about me. "

"But still, I should have thought about your feelings more often. "

"It's okay, my feelings aren't important than my health. " I gave him a smile.

"Mrs Anderson? " a nurse called out.

"Here. " Charles answered.

"The doctor is waiting. please follow me. "

We followed the nurse to a small passageway. We entered a room, the sign written ' Miss Amber ' .

"Oh, hello. Please take a seat, Mrs Anderson. " Miss Amber said, standing up and adgust the seat next opposite the table.

I sat down and Charles sat next to me, his hand on mine.

"What seems to be the problem? " Miss Amber asked.

"Well, I always feel nauseous and I'm always craving for food. " I answered.

"How long has this been happening? "

"About four months or so. "

"Okay, did you take the pregnancy test? "

"No, why? "

"It's okay of you didn't, come. Let me check it for you. "

We got up and entered another room. The room said it was where the ultrasound was.

"Take a seat. " Miss Amber said, preparing the ultrasound.

The nurse helped me put some cold gel onto my stomach and rubbed it evenly.

"Please lie down and relax, Mrs Anderson. " the nurse said.

"Okay. " I said, still a little nervous.

"Sir, please sit down on the chair over there. " the nurse said to Charles. His face was really pale and he looks worried.

"Okay, I'll scan you now. " Miss Amber said, putting the machine on my stomach, looking at the screen.

"Is-is that? " Charles said, suddenly.

Yes, it was a figure of a baby. A tiny little baby in the screen.

I couldn't help but let go a few tears. Happy tears. The moment was wonderful and it made my heart feel all warm and fuzzy.

"I'm gonna be a father! " Charles said, standing up to embrace me.

"I'm glad, Charles. " I said.

"Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Anderson. " Miss Amber said.

"Thank you, Miss Amber. " I thanked her.

"You're most welcome. "

I rubbed my flat stomach, knowing there's a life growing in me. We went straight home and someone suddenly screamed when we entered the house.

"Charles! " the twins jumped onto the both of us.

"What's all this noise? " Violet said, annoyed.

"Yeah, I was trying to read. " Lilianna said, walking with Louis.

"We have great news! " Charles said.

"What news, honey? " Katherine said, entering the room.

"Scarlet is pregnant. " Charles said.

"Wow! Congrats Scar! " everyone said.

"Thanks. " I said.
