Mary's pov

THUMP THUMP THUMP THWACK

I wake up and roll over to face my window and I barely avoid hit by a basketball . I watch as josh climbs in through my window .

"i regret teaching you how to pop my screen off with a ball " I say as I get out of bed and go sit on the couch next to josh putting my feet in his lap .

" lets go to the record sto-" Josh suggests for the third time that week

I cut him off " no . I wanna go see a movie " I say getting up to get ready because I know he wont say no .

I pull a pair of acid washed shorts , an oversized gray rolling stones shirt that I tie in the back , and I throw on a little purple eyeshadow , I line my eyes and slip in nose ring . I got my septum done when josh got his nostril done . I throw on my dirty white keds and brush my fading yellow hair down with my fingers as I step out of the bathroom .

"are you ready ?" josh asked in a play annoyed tone

"yeah , shall we make it hair day ? mines fading ."I say " we can get a new tat "

"okay , lets go " he replies climbing out of the window with me following . I place the screen back and grab my bike from the side of the house and bike down the street to the taco bell starting an undeclared race .

"that was a damn good movie " I say before josh slaps my arm

"watch your mouth missy " josh says in a  phony british accent

"watch . me. bitch . " I say before I run down the mall strip to the drugstore . I skid down the hair dye isle and trip. josh runs in out of breath , sees me on ground , and laughs  before helping me up . I grab a box of yellow dye , and follow josh to the register . we walk a little farther down the strip to the tattoo shop. I walk in and josh follows

"hello ! um we would each like a tattoo . and I want my ear pierced " I say looking at the prices

"oh that's great ! " says a girl who looks to be in her mid 20's with red hair and glasses ."we have some couples tattoos right here ." she says perkily

I look at josh as both our cheeks turn red

"oh-o-oh were not a couple "i stutter out I say as I take the designs from her "just really good friends" I flip through the designs ."hey josh . look at this design " it was a heart with an intertwined infinity ring .

"hey , I like it ."

"you ready to go under the needle sunshine ? I dare you to put it right on your collar bone . and to get my full name tattooed down your spine . "

"heck yeah ! but you have to put yours right on the back of your neck . and to get my full name on your spine ."

the girl calls me in , and I tell her what I want . I give one more look to josh and he waits until the second artist calls him in .

"you like him ." the artist I learned whos name is Mia says" I see the way you look at him . friends don't look at each other like that ."

"no , no , were just friends . really ,good friends ---. okay maybe I like him a little , or a lot ." I stutter out after the shock dissipates .

"mmhmm ... he likes you too  " she says as I start blushing furiously ."why would he pau for your tattoos and piercings . ? " Mia adds ,finishing the tattoo, and getting the needle ready to pierce my ear .

"well were best friends ... and I guess AHHHH" I scream while she pierces my helix .
