It’s always been Louis’ dream to own his own record shop. He’s loved records ever since he was a youngster. And even though they might be outdated, he knows for a fact that a lot of people still like listening to records. He never thought he’d be able to own one, though. He wasn’t really in the best of best financial situations throughout his childhood.

He had moved to Manchester with his mum and four sisters after his dad left when he was eleven, and he’s lived there ever since. And then he met Harry when he was seventeen; Harry who’d moved there from Holmes Chapel and is rich and they’ve been quite fond of each other ever since.

Louis never thought, never in a million years, had he thought he’d be able to own a record shop. And now it’s his twenty-second birthday and Harry’s left his a set of clues all over the city, kind of like a scavenger hunt. He’d been walking in the freezing weather (it hasn’t snowed yet this season; only freezing cold rain and ice and that pisses Louis off because he loves snow) for about an hour now, trying to find his next clue that his boyfriend of over four years left him, when he sees him.

All chocolate curls and slim body, perfect smile, dressed in maybe the most expensive suit he’s ever seen and Louis looks down at his own clothes. Jeans and a jumper. But he doesn’t care, Louis walks forward, the emerald of Harry’s eyes becoming closer and brighter.

He’s engulfed in a hug when he finally reaches Harry and he hugs back. The soft vanilla smell of his boyfriend is enticing and he’s smiling like crazy when Harry finally pulls away.

“Hello, beautiful,” Harry greets, placing a small kiss on Louis’ cheek.

Louis can feel the small blush forming on his cheek and he rolls his eyes. “You always make me blush,” Louis mumbles, though a smile is visible.

“Just love you is all,” Harry mumbles back, actually kissing him this time. When he pulls away he looks Louis up and down. “Should’ve told you to dress.”

“Yeah. You should’ve. And do you mind explaining to me why I walked over an hour? I’m sure you had a reason for it.”

Louis feels Harry’s hand hold onto his and that just makes his heart burst. “I have a very good reason for that and you’re going to love it. Come on love. Turn around,” he whispered.

So Louis turns around and is met with a rather small looking building, all brick. It’s only two story but right on the door, it says L & H Records and there is a big banner that says NOW OPEN! and he dies.

“Harry…” Louis whispers, his fingers tightening around Harry’s as his eye vision blurs. “You didn’t…”

“Oh, but I did. And that’s not all either.”

“What?” Louis spins around, not caring that the teas in his eyes have spilled. “You bought us a record store and you tell me that’s not all? What, are you going tell me that you got The Fray in there right now?” Louis’ not trying to sound mad or anything. It’s just…  Nobody has ever spent that much on him; whether it be money or care.

Harry just chuckles, not phased by Louis’ mood. “Oh, no. I wasn’t able to get them. They had to be in London today-“ Louis gasps. “But I think I have something better inside. If you want?....”

Louis’ realises he’s gaping. He’s just never experienced something like this. And staring at the building now; knowing that it’s in his and Harry’s name, that they actually own their own business and have their own place to live right upstairs; Louis couldn’t love Harry any more than he does in this moment. “Haz… How’d you do it?” He asks. “You didn’t buy this all on your own, did you?”
