OCFS - Danny's Song

People smile and tell me I'm the lucky one, and we've just begun,
Think I'm gonna have a son.
He will be like she and me, as free as a dove, conceived in love,

He just got home from work. He found her in the kitchen, slicing something by the counter. He hugged her from behind and kissed her neck.
"Hi, Love. Uy, wag masyadong hahalik halik jan, pawis ako oh. Hala siya, nakikiliti ako uy!"
"I miss you, Love. The whole day sa office di kita maalis sa isip ko."
"Ang clingy mo! Hahahah. I miss you too. Kahit minu minuto tayong magka text."
"Kaya payakap muna, I really miss my wife."
She faced him and wrapped her arms around his waist, closed her eyes and took in his scent. After a few minutes...
"RJ, I really have to finish this off. I know gutom kana rin. Sige na, you go freshen up muna. Tawagin nalang kita. I think dinner will be ready in about an hour."
"Mukhang marami ang handa natin ngayon ah. Anong okasyon?"
She blushed and smiled.
"Wala naman po, gusto ko lang busugin ang hubby ko."
"Thank you, Menggay ko. Pa MOMOL muna hahahah"

Seems as though a month ago I beta chi, never got high,
Oh, I was a sorry guy.
And now a smile, a face, a girl that shares my name,

4 hours later, he woke up to the sound of her sobbing.
"Love? What's wrong?"
"Anong what's wrong?! Kanina pa kita ginigising, ayaw mo magising. Malamig na yung niluto ko."
"Ssshh, Love, I'm sorry. Napagod lang talaga ako, kaliwa't kanan kasi ang emergency meetings kanina. Tapos meron pang mali dun sa design ni Liam, at sakin na binigay yung account na yun. Please don't cry, I'm sorry. Tara na, baba na tayo, let's eat."
"Wag na! Wala nakong gana at nilagay kona sa ref yung ulam. Kung gusto mong kumain, ipainit mo nalang sa microwave yung food."
"Sige you just stay here, babalik ako."
Pagbukas niya ng ref. He saw his favorite beef caldereta and fried rice, he heated them in the microwave. She even made his favorite dessert, mango float. He put the food in one tray then went up to their bedroom. When he opened the bedroom door, he saw her sitting on the bed crocheting. She frowned when she saw him. He sighed as he put the tray down on the 2 seater table near the floor to ceiling windows, then approached his wife by their bed.
"Love, kain tayo please? Di ako makakain at the thought na di kapa kumakain. At mas lalong di ako makakain kung di kita kasama. I'm sorry. Please kumain ka lang, kahit wag moko kausapin. Susubuan kita. Anything, Meng, just please."
She stood up, stomping her feet as she walked towards the table, still not saying anything. He followed her and assisted her to her seat. She put food on his plate, poured juice on his glass. He tried to feed her but she just shook her head. He put food on her plate instead, she proceeded to eating after he did that. When they were done, she served a slice of the mango float on his plate. She was still silent. He went to her seat and knelt infront of her, held her hands and said...
"Love, please wag kana magtampo. Thank you nga pala, favorite ko tong beef caldereta at mango float. Tapos fried rice pa."
Then she couldn't stop her tears, thinking about the reason why she cooked his favorite food for dinner. He hugged her tight, rubbed her back as she sobbed and sniffled. When they pulled from their embrace, he wiped her tears. She reached for the pocket of her pajamas and handed him a small envelope. It was his turn to tear up when he saw what's inside the envelope, 3 pregnancy test kits each showing 2 lines and a printed copy of a sonogram.

He gave her a soft kiss then sat her on his lap before asking her...
"Totoo, Maine?" She looked down and nodded.
"I've been experiencing morning sickness for 2 weeks now. Akala ko nung una may nakain lang ako or I'm just not feeling well. Pero I noticed na meron siyang pattern, right after you have left for work saka ako magsusuka. Until yesterday I realized I might be pregnant so I bought the pregnancy test kits, all 3 showed positive results. I wanted to surprise you but I wanted to make sure so I went to see an OB kanina. We're 8 weeks pregnant, Daddy!"
"I wish I would've been with you on your first trip to the OB."
"Okay lang, I really wanted to surprise you. Pero kinabahan talaga ako kanina. Tapos they put really cold jelly on my tummy for the ultrasound. I also wished you were there with me too. Don't worry, sasamahan monako sa mga susunod na appointments. Next month meron tayo, so better clear your schedule okay?"
He nodded then smiled at her. He caressed her tummy, which showed no baby bump yet. He kissed it, he was crying. He whispered...
"Our baby. We can't wait to see you very, very soon, little one. Please don't give Mommy a hard time, okay? We love you very much."

"Very happy. Sana sinabi mona agad sakin, na stress kapa kanina napaiyak pa kita."

"Kasalanan ko rin naman, tinulugan kita. I'm sorry too."
"On our next appointment, we're going to hear our little one's heartbeat, yay!"
"And I will make sure to be there with you, Meng. I love you. Pwede bang makahingi ng sexy time?"
"Yan tayo eh, ang harot harot mo. Hahahah. Wash the dishes muna before sexy time."
"Sige ba! Dito ka lang ha, just relax. Ako na ang bahala maghugas ng pinggan. *kiss* I love you."
