Sabre's PoV
Beeping. The only thing I heard. "I'm sorry Mrs. Favre. Your son's eyes, we couldn't save them. The others suggested to give him mechanical eyes, but I said that the mother should decide. Do you?" I barely heard the doctor ask. "Yes." she replied. I growled mentally. She never cared. She was the one who caused this. Even her voice sounded emotionless when she answered the doctor. I heard the doctor shift, and realized that he noticed the lack of emotion in my mother's voice. The doctor called over others. "Yes Dr. Lang?" a nurse ask. "She agreed to the eyes. Get the surgery over with." Dr. Lang replied. He shooed my mother out of the room. Which I was thankful for. Then, I felt a needle get pressed into the side of my head, and I passed out.
Hours later
I woke up. Soreness flashed through my body, and I remembered the surgery. They had said I would get, mechanical eyes? Then why can't I see still? I moved my hand up to feel gauze wrapped around the top half of my face. "Now now Sabre, it's best that you don't move." a female voice said softly. I flinched, and looked around for the source, and looked directly in the place where the sound came from. "W...who are you?" I stammered. "My name is Dr. Shay. I've been watching over you incase something might happen during your sleep. Meanwhile, I've noticed your mother's actions. She isn't very, emotional, is she?" the doctor replied. "No." my voice cracked. "Huh. Is that why you cut?" the question startled me, and my left hand flew to my right arm, and felt that my sweater sleeve had been pulled up. My fingers ran over the multiple scars, and I quickly pulled down both sleeves. "N..not exactly." I murmured. "Not exactly?" Dr. Shay repeated. "She..she doesn't treat me very well... She..she's abusive.. E..ever since..my..my father di..died, she blamed it o..on me." I muttered. Dr. Shay sighed. "Sabre, I'll be right back. I'll lock the door so your mother cannot come in." she said. "T..thank you.. So much." I replied. I heard the door get locked after opened, then it closed. I waited quietly, and then lifted myself to a sitting position. It made me uncomfortable that I couldn't see what was going on, only hear. Then, the door was unlocked, and two pairs of footsteps approached. I glanced over where I heard the footsteps. Then, hands wrapped around my throat. I gasped, then ripped at the soft hands that I knew too well. "St..stop, please.." I pleaded, choking. The door shut, and locked. "Hurry up." a man's deep voice growled. I decided on the first thing that came to mind. I reared back my hand, and punched my own mother. She cried out and stumbled back. I leapt to my feet, and ripped at the gauze around my face. I could see. Without thinking twice, I charged the door, unlocking it quickly and opening it before bolting. Then I ran into people. "Sabre?" Dr. Shay's voice. "What's going on?" Dr. Lang. I hugged her tightly and shook. "My..my mother.. She f..found a k..key and got in the r..room. Her and some o...other guy." I whimpered. She nodded, and Dr. Lang along with a few others rushed to my room. Then the came back out with a struggling woman and man. My mother and some stranger teamed up to kill me... I hugged the doctor tighter as my mother passed. She stopped struggling and simply glared at me. I whimpered. Then, they were gone. "Calm down. They're gone. No one's going to hurt you.." Dr. Shay comforted. I nodded. Dr. Lang came back, and stared at the eyes I now had. "The eyes.. They work?" he asked. I nodded. He looked closer. "Strange.. They were blue when we added them, but now they're white. Well, at least they work!" he chirped, and hugged me. I softly smiled. Today was quite a day..
