Moose's PoV

'Course we had the fuckin' Pacer. Why not. Sky and Mitch avoided me the entire gym class, which I was happy about.

"What happened with your mother? And Sky? Thought you guys were best friends." Sabre asked next to me. I shrugged.

"Don't know. He just pulled away, and I think I set of something, 'cause he just, blew up on me. Don't know why. As for my mother. She became a drunkard. Drinks every night, and it affected her, mood. Her behavior too. Became slightly abusive, but only words so far. Dad's a little scared that she might go a little far, but if she does, my dad'll leave her and take me with. He hopes that soon she'll get out of her habits, and come back to us as the mom I knew, or the wife he knew." I replied calmly. He nodded thoughtfully. I smiled. Yknow, maybe this'll be a good day after all.
~~~~~~~~ Time skip, next class.
I felt Shark's glare digging into my back as I sat down into my seat. I was late again, this time actually getting lost. Nearly broke down the door by running into it. The teacher seemed surprised that I was actually at her class, and that I was in a hurry to get there. I dug into my pockets, and pulled out my locket, and stared at it in my hands. 'Keep it close.' Sabre had said. I decided the best, and put it around my neck and clipped it together. I relaxed in my chair and silently listened. The teacher began handing out the tests, and slowly gave me mine. Everyone's eyes were on me. Usually, I tore up the test in the teacher's face, but instead, I took out my pencil and began to work. I think the teacher dropped something next to me, but I didn't move a millimeter.
5s=375 s=_____
I stared at the paper. They're literally teaching us Seventh Grade shit. I wrote down 75 as my answer.
~~after test
I surprised everyone. I mean, I'm the kid who doesn't do shit, and apparently I'm the first person to stand up and give the teacher my paper. She looked at, probably expecting something that said, 'Haha, fooled you bitches. Really thought I was going to work?! As if!' was written on the paper. I know that sounds like I did, but I did that about a month ago. Instead, she found every single answer filled in. She stared at me, shocked.
"By God, Moose. What has gotten into you?!" she exclaimed, catching the class's attention. I shrugged, then smiled.
"I'm in a really good mood today, so I actually did some work, and gave you the wrong answers. Nah, I just wanted to actually get some work done, and I think I have most of them right. I just found out that I have an old friend that goes here, and I'm happy. Gotta get those grades up." I replied happily, a crooked smile on my face. She smiled. I returned to my seat. I opened my binder and grabbed my book that I had from the school library. I opened the cover, and checked the return date. Sept. 2- Holy shit this is overdue. I stood up and walked over to the teacher. "Is it an option for me to drop this book off at the library?" I asked softly. She looked at me suspiciously.
"How do I know you're just trying to get out of class and meet up with Mango?" Miss. Hopkins asked. I opened the book at pointed at the due date. Her eyes widened. She sighed, and nodded. "Very well." I left the class, holding the book. Of course, almost immediately I got stopped by a teacher.
"What do you think you're doing?" he asked angrily. My hands flew up, the book still in my hands.
"Sorry Mr. Foga, I was heading to the library to drop off my unbelievably way overdue book." I replied. He nodded.
"Alright. Go on ahead." he told me calmly. I smiled gratefully, and walked past me, heading for the library. I opened the door, which let out its usual creak. The librarian looked up and saw me, and his eyes went huge.
"Moose! What a great surprise!" he exclaimed. I nodded.
"Sorry to be a bother. Came by to drop off this book, and pick up a new one." I said. He laughed.
"Who are you and what have you done with Moose." he joked. I chuckled.
"Still the Moose you know, just a bit different." I chirped. I placed the book in the drop-off, and walked between the shelves. 'What was that book Sabre mentioned?' I thought to myself. I spotted it immediately. Time Keepers. Ooh, sounds cool. I pulled out the first and second book, flipping through the first few pages of each. Perfect. I walked up to the front desk. He checked the books out, I said thanks, and walked out and back to class. Well, sadly, didn't make it. For the second time today, I was slammed against the lockers.
"Well, well, well. Don't see Blindfold with you." Sky growled. I relaxed as I looked down at his shades.
"Question. What's with the glasses? Actually. Better question. Why do you hate me Sky? We were best friends. What the hell happened?" I asked calmly. Sky froze, and I easily removed his hand from my shirt. "Now, if you don't mind, I'll be getting to my class. Don't want to worry Miss. Hopkins." I mentioned cheerily. I walked away from him, Jason, who had been behind Sky, was gawking at me. I entered the class, and quietly sat in my desk, and read until the bell. I put everything into my binder and exited the class. Then boom, I found myself on the floor, my binder in front of me. I flipped myself to see Sky gazing at me angrily. A group of kids gathered around us, the two biggest bullies in school, and started yelling fight. I got up and dusted myself off. I glanced at Sky. "You've changed Sky." I commented. I turned around, only to freeze at the sound of Sky rushing at me. I turned quickly, and spotted Sky charging at me. Suddenly, he was swept off his feet by, Ian? Sky roughly shoved his friend off him, and stood up.
"I'm sick of you Sky!" Ian growled. Sky twitched.
"Really? Cause I'm really sick of you." Sky snarled, and something steel appeared in his hand. I froze. A knife. Sky was ready to stab one of his own friends. They charged each other, and Sky raised his knife. I reacted instantly, and ran between the two as soon as Sky swung. The knife hit me in the side, and I screeched. I ripped it out of his hands, and threw it on the ground.
"Ian ain't the only one sick of your shenanigans." I threatened. Someone rushed to my side, and I looked to see Sabre helping me out. I smiled. Then I growled.
"Adam Dalhberg (i think I spelled that right) please come to the office this instant." someone called over the intercom. Sky snarled in spite, and pushed his way out of the circle. Black began to envelop my vision, and I stumbled. Sabre motioned at Shark, and spoke. Shark nodded, and took my other arm. Ian followed, and Mango followed behind Ian. They pulled me to the nurses office. That's the point on where I passed out.
